  2. Prince Harry speaks of "real struggle" organising inaugural Invictus Games Prince Harry has spoken of the "real struggle" he has had organising the inaugural Invictus Games - a competition for injured members of the armed forces. "This is basically my full-time job at the moment, making sure that we pull this off," he told BBC Radio 2 earlier today. Championed by Prince Harry, the Games will see sick, injured and wounded service personnel compete in eight sports at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. More than 300 competitors from 13 countries are expected to come to the British capital for the event, which will be held from September 10 to 14. "It's been a real struggle actually," said Prince Harry. "Anyone listening out there, I would say if you're going to try and plan something this big in under a year, make sure you've either got [Organising Committee chairman] Sir Keith Mills with you or don't bother doing it at all. "It's been great" The Games are in the mould of the Warrior Games in the United States. Prince Harry added: "We decided it [the Warrior Games] was such a wonderful concept, we should steal it, make it bigger, make it better and bring it back home. "We're still trying to work out whether we do it next year or the year after and whether it's going to be within the UK or whether it's going to be abroad. "But the legacy has already started and if we can use it as a stepping stone for some of these individuals to move on to the Paralympics, great. "If some of them want to use it as a one-off to get themselves back on the road and then as a stepping stone to employment, then just as good. "We will use the Invictus Games for as long as it's needed." Competition will take place in athletics, archery, wheelchair basketball, road cycling, indoor rowing, wheelchair rugby, swimming and sitting volleyball. A crowd of up to 5,000 people are expected for the Opening Ceremony on September 10, with the Royal Air Force to perform a fly-past during the Ceremony, which will be on the South Lawn of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. There will also be a series of ceremonial displays and a performance of the official Invictus Games anthem, penned by Chris Martin from Coldplay. Tickets for the Ceremony as well as for all sessions for the Games, cost £12.85 ($22/€16) and can be purchased here (http://axs.com/invictusgames) . And tickets for the Closing Concert, with performances from the likes of Foo Fighters, Kaiser Chiefs and James Blunt, will go on sale at 9am British Summer Time tomorrow and will be available from the same website. 4. MTV Picks Up Documentary by Rock Concert Crasher Turned Filmmaker (among the featured artists: Coldplay) Fake Empire is producing "No Cameras Allowed," which MTV plans to give a limited theatrical run and a future airdate on its channel. MTV has picked up the distribution rights to No Cameras Allowed, a documentary directed by and starring James Marcus Haney, who turned a penchant for crashing the backstage of rock concerts into a budding career as a rock videographer. Lis Rowinski, who runs motion picture for Fake Empire, the production entity run by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, is producing the doc along with Matt Barber and Michelle Knudsen. Schwartz and Savage are exec producing along with Haney, frequent Fake Empire music collaborator Alexandra Patsavas, Robyn Demarco, Joshua Vodnoy, Michael Raimondi, Mason Novick and James Parrinello. MTV plans to air the documentary on its channel as well as give it a limited theatrical run. Haney began crashing concerts in 2010 when he posed as a press photographer at the Coachella Music Festival. His duplicity garnered him press badges and coveted backstage wristbands, allowing for greater access to the bands, which he started to shoot fanatically. It led to Haney regularly sneaking into other music festivals, and he eventually caught the attention of Mumford & Sons, whose manager was won over by the college-age kid and invited him to join the band’s tour as official recorder. The documentary details Haney's four-and-a-half-year journey on the road with several bands, his experiences in the rock world and plenty of behind-the-scenes footage at concerts. Among the artists featured are Coldplay, Muse, Jay Z and Mumford & Sons. Rowinski came across Haney’s self-made trailer online and brought it to Schwartz and Savage, whose love of music spills into their shows and movies — both have strong music components to them. The trio and other producers went through hours of footage and offered input to Haney on what would become the final doc. Fake Empire recently joined the producing team of MGM’s remake of WarGames and is producing the event series The Astronaut Wives Club, which will premiere on ABC in spring 2015. The company also is producing The CW's Hart of Dixie. Haney will be doing a Reddit AMA at 9 a.m. PT on Tuesday. 14. Old news, I know, but it confirms it was indeed Jody that Chris was talking about in the RAH and gives some more details. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Coldplay donates £10,000 to terminally ill Lordswood man Jody Duff's fundraising campaign for Motor Neurone Disease Association Stars have come out in support of a terminally ill man who is raising money and awareness for a rare condition that has left him unable to move. Jody Duff, of Fanconi Road, Lordswood, suffers from motor neurone disease (MND) and is working tirelessly with family and friends to raise cash for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association). So far, he has raised £20,000 in three weeks – including a £10,000 donation from Coldplay, after lifelong fan Jody met frontman Chris Martin and the band. They even dedicated a song to him at the Royal Albert Hall. Jody's sister, Alicia Duff, and friend, Stacie Boy, organised a funday on Sunday at the Victoria Cross pub in Lordswood to raise money and awareness for MNDA. The day raised over £5,500 for the charity. Jody, 37, who was born with spina bifida – when the spine does not develop properly in the womb – was diagnosed with MND in 2004. He first realised something was wrong when he started finding it more difficult to walk. Jody said: "My legs kept giving way underneath me. I went from my walking stick, to crutches, to a manual wheelchair, to an electric wheelchair." It took four years to diagnose Jody with MND, a progressive neurological condition that affects the cells and nerves in the brain, causing limited mobility. Jody, who went to Chatham South school, said: "I've always been an independent person and the hardest thing to adjust to was having to ask people to help. "Even with spina bifida, I was still able to be drive my own car and work. Now I can't give myself food or drink." But Jody does not let MND stop him from doing the things he wants to do. His sister, Alicia Duff, said: "He'll find a way to do it his way and he'll do as much of that as he can. We have a family saying, great PMA – positive mental attitude." And it was that positive mental attitude that led Jody to eventually meet Chris Martin after a concert at The Royal Albert Hall on July 1. Jody's friend, Adam Powell, had been trying for weeks to arrange for him to meet the band, and handed a three-page letter into reception when they arrived. Jody, Adam and another friend, Andy Roberts, waited around after the show and asked a member of staff to pass on a second message to Coldplay. After waiting for half an hour, the band's tour manager came over to them and said the band would love to meet them. Jody said: "Chris stopped whatever he was doing and sat next to me and was genuinely interested in finding out about motor neurone disease." Chris then invited them to the after-show party, before asking Jody to come back the following evening for their final show. The next night, Jody and his two sisters, Lauri and Chayla Duff, mingled with the stars in the friends and family lounge, snapping pictures with Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom and others celebrities. [video=youtube;AkovF_WjVlM] At the end of the show, Chris Martin dedicated Jody’s favourite song, Fix You, to him. He told the 5,000-strong crowd: “We just want to send him, from us and from all of you, as much love as we possibly can. "He’s very inspiring and he said that every day you live, you should live it as though it’s your last and that’s such an amazing thing to hear from some who’s gone through so much.” Since the show Kings of Leon, Stephen Fry and Holly Willoughby and other celebrities have tweeted their support. Jody's next aim is to get MND to be the number one trending tweet worldwide. You can donate online at http://www.justgiving.co.uk/jodyduff or text YYNU77 followed by £1, £5 or £10 to 70070. link
