I have no idea if they're actually supposed to come out in opposite directions with this particular DVD, this is just how I've gotten them out. The point is that I bought this DVD around the time it came out, when my own favorite record store didn't keep CDs and DVDs filled and shrinkwrapped on the shelves, but you simply had to get the (empty) case and get the discs put in at the counter when you purchased something. This was to prevent theft of course, but this means the dude behind the counter could've put the discs in and just randomly slid the disc holders back in. I've opened them in the way I described to you ever since. If the holders are supposed to go in opposite directions, the plastic band is probably meant to pass over the top of the white separator in the middle of the box rather than under as I've got it...

Pull where it says pull, but make sure to only pull on the TOP disc holder. The other holder should slide out after it because of the plastic thing, and they definitely come out of the white box. Looks elegant but kind of tricky. The plastic band is to prevent the disc holders from coming out the top of the white box. Secondly, yes, there is supposed to be a booklet in the back pocket of that holder, it contains a tracklist for both discs and some photographs. If I were you I'd contact the Amazon seller about this. Hopefully this helps you!

Am and have been since I was 13 (nearly seven years now). And to everyone who says they like it to much, for you I shall throw in a big ol' cliche: once you've not had it for a month or two, you won't miss it. And buy a good veggie cookbook, that helps.
