  1. it's probably a stream. The Manics Street Preachers and Feeder have both had advance streaming on their sites and U2 allowed members to stream from the moment their last album came out I believe.
  2. ARTIST: Matchbox 20 ALBUM: More Than You Think You Are TRACK: Downfall
  3. close one, although at the moment, the scores are 51%-48%, something doesn't add up....
  4. are you kidding, U2 have a larger repetoire of famous songs than many 20 year plus artists. Unlike artists such as Springsteen, who can be nailed down to having merely 1 or 2 songs that define them, U2 have numerous classics from various eras. Also, as TLC says, U2 live are an experience apart from any other, their studio stuff simply does not do justice to the transformation many of their more 'ordinary' tunes undergo when moved into the scene of a tour. I would say the most over-rated bands, including ones that I like, are those that spring up from year-to-year and are hailed as 'the next Big Thing', bands such as the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Keane and Razorlight. Their catalogue has no depth as does, say, a Zeppelin or Dire Straits, yet people still hail them as the biggest thing in music. Are we really that shallow?
  5. yeah, lets all carve '4 real' into our arms! oh, what do you mean its been done before?
  6. wahey, and they're being supported by Snow Patrol, makes £55 a bargain!
  7. by the way, although this thread may seem 39 pages long, you're only about the 5th person to post on it.
  8. what do you mean 'now-a-days'? Hasn't this always been the case, Zeppelin, Beatles, Rolling Stones & Queen springing to mind immediately.
  9. thanks for your link too, I've been looking for that one for a while, was afraid it had become ForeverDelayed.org

  11. added to my list: Manic Street Preachers - 14/04 - Leeds University Refectory - F***ing superb, one of my favourite bands ever and in such an intimate venue too!
  12. http://www.removables.co.uk , best lyrics/meanings site. Go to Liverpool, its hardly a huge trek. Its because the played Manchester in December, this time they're doing (mainly) places they haven't been for a while.

  14. You people should be ashamed that Led Zeppelin are not leading this poll.
  15. I refuse to take part in any poll that puts the Killers above Keane and Embrace
  16. I got 4 GA tickets to Manchester June 14th which sold out in 15 minutes. However, they do reealse a small amount of tickets in intervals throughout the day too apparently. But yes, I have 4 tickets provided TicketBastard doesn't cock it up (which it has done with me before).
  17. RA-D replied to Sidious's topic in Coldplay
  18. Unfortunately not, I had to sell my tickets as I can't make it. I can add Ocean Colour Scene at Leeds University though: 26/04 if anyone's interested
  19. Mine is no passing obsession, Coldplay are my most recent (and by the looks of things, will be for a long time) addition to my absolutely great bands list. I can easily say, without any doubt, that my favourite band are U2, as they have been since the 80s (when all other music was crap anyway). What I don't understand is how people always seem to adopt a brand new band, proclaim their undying love for everything about them and then move on a couple of months later (read the Killers thread in about 6 months time!).
  20. go see Keane. Do it.
  21. Coldplay - ... (March?) Turin Brakes - ... (March) Feeder - Pushing The Senses
  22. RA-D replied to Brewers droop's topic in Coldplay Live
There was the Rotterdam show that was available in the multimedia forum, it was definitely played there.
  23. You know the part, in scene 2 or 3 of the Sydney DVD's Tour Diary there is a soundcheck from Earl's Court with a fantasticaly upbeat version of Trouble. I was wondering if there is a full length version played similarly to this anywhere?
  24. you think that's bad mate, we in Europe are paying nearly twice that for a much bigger floor. But come on, this is U2, not some here today/gone tomorrow band like Razorlight, FF or Killers. This is the best of the best and I'd rather pay for this one than pay a similar price for 3 other bands.
  25. come on, they only tour once every 4 years, thats less than £15 a year......
