  1. Japanese businesses can import CDs from abroad, the same ones that you or I have, for cheaper than a Japanese produced CD, so to encourage the buying of the Japanese product, they often have a unique addition, such as different artwork or an extra song or two.
  2. those were the only 10 options though, I believe
  3. Its so that the Japanese don't just buy cheaper import copies from the rest of Aisa, I do believe.

oh come on, its hardly crown jewel theft is it? I happen to think Talk is a pretty good song though..............
  5. I too would do everything possible to get there for the event, as I missed out on Manchester and Newcastle for the end of year shows, although won't pay scalper prices for tickets.
  6. I was at Bolton stadium at 9am (sodding rain, wasn't that a fun day? Yes, actually) and was front-centre but you're venue won't be the same size as that so I wouldn't worry too much.
  7. those nominations for 'best song' were a bit weak? Either way, you shouldn't have shown me the link, I voted for U2 over Coldplay in three of the five, sorry :)
  8. Clocks
  9. that's the first right thing to be said here ;)
  10. its rubbish - the worst piece of material they've ever commited to a record - its such a cliched, dull, unimaganitive drone until the Unforgettable Fire part (and I mean that in a good way) kicks in, only its hard to get to that part without hitting 'skip' on the remote. Yes, for as long as people keep posting this comment, i shall keep repeating my own views.

I don't like it - I'd take it back if it wasn't for a good cause - the Manics' track is my favourite, as the only decent up-tempo one there but it fades out in the middle for no reason. Either way, there's no Lucky anywhere on this one. Also, there's a 'The' In the Manics' name on the back - unforgivable!
  12. Octakon: Love the avatar, would you mind if I were to use it myself elsewhere?
  13. Favourite album is The Joshua Tree. I know, cliche, but there's a reason as to why its so highly rated and the best legacy of that is the fact that they still consistently use 5 or 6 songs from that one album in their live set, even the non singles such as Running To Stand Still and Bullet The Blue Sky.
  14. I know that, Coldplay and U2 both no that, U2 have often referenced their influences by snippeting songs or by full live covers, they've covered, amongst many others, All Along The Watchtower (Dylan), Satellite Of Love, Take A Walk On The Wild Side (Lou Reed) and Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who), Stones songs such as Sympathy For The Devil and Ruby Tuesday and The Beatles' Norweigan Wood, Helter Skelter & Help, often making reference to the influence those artists have had over them. Probably in quite a similar way to the way that Coldplay are covering Ring Of Fire at the moment.
  15. at least take a couple of disposables - they're better than nothing and it doesn't matter too much if they get confiscated
  16. no, because they're only doing the far-smaller-than-they-are Apollo theatre in Manchester and only doing 1 night which means the tickets disappeared instantly and brokers are getting about 2x what I'd pay. I did win an auction from a respected dealer at a fair price but they've gone bust and now I'm having to fight PayPal for my money back. I'm not bitter.

Vertigo? wait, no, Clocks "It could be worse"
  18. 3 of those 4 are my favourite Coldplay B-sides and the other, Animals, is not half bad either. None are particularly downbeat songs, maybe Animals is
  19. I think they are natural successors, if there is such a thing, but their next album must be different to X&Y
  20. Hmm

bart - they didn't record Bolton, they only got footage for Fix You x2
  21. there was no way I wasn't going to come out of that as the Manic Street Preachers, hell, I own a leopardskin coat and feather boas. Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, but the terminology used appears to point to this being a Manics fansite? Li_cold - go dig up the Manics thread in this very forum and let myself and badlydrawngirl give you the most important musical education you've never had
  22. 7/10 Snow Patrol - Black & Blue
  23. I saw them both nights in Manchester in June, stunning, stunningly good, lost for words - really are the best ever in my book - I'll upload you another show and some rarities in the next day or two. About Manchester, was queued from 9am both days so was on the railing at the front for both. The atmosphere and performance were so much better on the second night, but that isn't to say the first was bad, merely that the second was the best show I've ever been witness to. (click to expand)
