  1. It finally came in the mail... it's SO BEAUTIFUL Now to look at this stuff in the booklet that everyone in the LP9 thread is going on about...
  2. I'm trying to find a clip of SJLT. I don't particularly love that song but I actually really liked that acoustic rehearsal clip from a few days ago.
  3. They did Lovers In Japan?!? Awwwww... I'm almost as happy about that as I am about Sparks. Just please give us at least one more pro-shot show for this era, please...

Music of the Spheres would certainly be a weird song title if they don't break the tradition of having a title track... The name alone suggests an album of ethereal world music if you ask me. That'd certainly be something! I wouldn't dare refer to X&Y as shoddy or failed in any way... but then again I consider it Coldplay's best album so I'm a wee bit biased. ;) Imagine though, if you will, a modern take on that kind of space rock that doesn't frustrate the band to no end. Something that comes more naturally than X&Y did, without the creative turmoil that led them to scrap dozens and dozens of songs during the process of writing and recording. Imagine Davide Rossi's strings (as beautiful as they are!) replaced with dreamy synthesizers. Imagine a Coldplay album like that.
  5. I like the simplicity of the voice memo version. But the live version is better, I like being able to hear the lyrics and a more fleshed-out version of the song.
  6. Life Is Beautiful is an unreleased song they played live toward the end of the AHFOD tour, I personally think it fits in well with this era. I wish they had used it for Everyday Life, either in its original form or maybe acoustic.
  7. Here's mine: Sunrise: Sunrise Church Trouble In Town Daddy Guns Arabesque Orphans When I Need a Friend Sunset: Eko Cry Cry Cry Flags Old Friends Life Is Beautiful Bani Adam Champion of the World Everyday Life
  8. I do think it's weird that they've been talking about not caring about what people think of them anymore and then this one tweet kinda sets Chris off. Especially after the way Chris says he reacted to criticism of the band's Super Bowl performance. But it's understandable. Chris has got fame, but he's also human just like the rest of us. People with fame may develop a thick skin in the public eye, but for all we know they could be struggling beneath the surface. To me Everyday Life and Ghost Stories both represent a lot of that angst and sadness underneath the surface of the band that just can't be expressed through the MX/AHFOD Coldplay persona of this band that plays larger-than-life shows with bright colors and songs about being happy. GS and EL are what happens when they shed that skin and allow themselves to be vulnerable. As for Glastonbury... they just played Glasto 3 and a half years ago, and they've performed twice in the past 10 years. Add to that the fact that the Everyday Life era isn't really suited for big shows with big crowds, and I think it becomes clear that 2020 just isn't the right time. I don't think it's the right time for festivals in general, apart from that Global Citizen Festival appearance next September (assuming that isn't canceled).
  9. So... what about Viva and Sparks? So that poll was for nothing? Ugh. EDIT: Never mind, I hope we get them on YouTube after tomorrow's show. Sunset was a cool set though. I wasn't quite as blown away, Chris sounded worse, and it's clear at this point that there was so much that wasn't truly live, but it was still really touching. Orphans was the highlight IMO.
  10. You know what I just realized? Watch one of those early live versions of Always In My Head, with the sun rising on the screen in the background. It seems like they've had this sunrise theme on their minds for a while, even before Hypnotised ("It was dark, now it's sunrise").
  11. I won't be able to watch Sunset live... unless I skip class, which starts 5 minutes after the broadcast resumes and ends probably just before the set is over. Hopefully it loops afterward...
  12. I'm not normally one to go asking for PMs, but... likewise! It'd be much appreciated!
  13. Alright... looks like the extra songs won't be coming til Sunset. Gotta wait for Viva and Sparks. :D Nothing really disappointed me, apart from Church to some extent but I get why Chris didn't sing live.
  14. The solo is even cooler when you actually see it played
  15. Alright! The moment I've been waiting for the most... ARABESQUE! And it's live! Listen to Jonny! The brass ensemble! Guy!
  16. WOTW/POTP with clear audio is awesome! Like Parachutes (the song) all over again. Sounds so much better than on the album.
  17. Daddy live... I've really been looking forward to this one. And it's not disappointing. Dang, I'm tearing up again just like during Sunrise.
  18. It's the self-playing piano again!
  19. In the Q&A, he mentioned voice trouble...
  20. I'll bet they're playing live, just being overdubbed by the studio version.
  21. Doesn't really sound live, Chris definitely wasn't close enough to the mic for a moment there... whatever, the aesthetic is still perfect!
  22. Yessssssssssss Church! Those opening notes!
