  1. It's a drawing of the four members.
  2. I'm A Real Bastard would be an amazing name!! None of your head full of dreams wishy washy sentimental shite!! In all seriousness though, this could lead somewhere interesting - Tomorrow is a contender for me, don't really know why haha.

B A: The truth is, I miss you B: Wounds that heal and cracks that fix
  4. Amsterdam vs Hoppipolla (Sigur Ros)
  5. The truth is I miss you.
  6. From another angle, AHFOD is the first album title I don't like - so I hope the artwork and song titles make up for it (two things they're traditionally good at)
  7. I love change and experimentation, but it's been too long since Coldplay sounded like a good rock band.
  8. If any of these songs have a rap section, I will cry a sea of tears whilst listening to AROBTTH.
  9. They could make an album that isn't soft or pop rock, just rock. Less "Under the Iron Sea" and more "Be Here Now". Something that demands attention and oozes confidence - that can't be dismissed as safe, bland and MOR. An album of Politiks and Glass of Water's but BIGGER. To be honest, this isn't gonna happen on AHFOD but on lp8, new cycle and no record deal, who knows? Anything is possible ;)
  10. More guitar!!! I just want more guitar!!! Like imagine if the first single comes out and it's 7 mins long, with a massive riff and stadium chorus - and loaded with guitar! Because Ghost Stories was such a personal Chris-centric album, AHFOD should be one for the band, lots of instrumentation and layers of bass, guitar and drums - like Viva was, but heavier and with something to prove...THAT would be the way to end the cycle, finally proving all the people who call them bland and MOR wrong.
  11. Would be cool if they shocked us all and made a massive f**k off Be Here Now style album with 7 min songs and juggernaut guitar solos....Singles "Who's MOR NOW??" and "No More Mr Soft-Rock"
  12. Lol I know I'm worried
  13. Really don't know how I'm feeling about AHFOD, an eclectic and ambitious mix of styles united in optimism and grandeur would be stunning - on the other hand another bland pop album with cliched lyrics and chartist tendencies would send Coldplay into the complete mediocrity they've threatened with lp's 5 and 6. I have a feeling this could end up being seen as a pivotal record in Coldplay's career. (Also at this point I love 3 albums and don't really like 3, so this is the decider )
  14. Or just have a proof reader to cross out the cliches, instantly better lyrics.
  15. If there's going to be a collaboration on lp7, these are the top ten people I'd like it to be: 1. Sigur Ros 2. Radiohead 3. Aphex Twin 4. U2 5. Noel Gallagher 6. Johnny Marr 7. Richard Ashcroft/Nick McCabe 8. Amorphous Androgynous 9. Four Tet 10. Damon Albarn Or y'know Nicki Minaj whatever -_-
  16. I don't know, I think Aphex's best feature - like coldplay - is his melodic sense...I could concieve of a collaboration later on. Like desolate piano over a muted signature Aphex beat with chris' occasional melodic refrains distorted and covered in effects... Sorry I'm daydreaming
  17. True, which is why - when Coldplay want electronic influences and have all that choice open to them - they choose to work with Avicci.
  18. I love electronica but there's a difference between Aphex Twin and Avicci

If there's any Oasis fans here I did an edit of Be Here Now today - check it out....
  20. My favs from the soundcloud collection: Pink Floyd 70s Tune 28 Organ Sam's Car
  21. Tbh I have a suspicion that the best music on AHFOD will be driven by the band, I don't think Chris would have a problem with endless feel good pop albums.
  22. Absolutely, but they haven't done a truly above average album since Viva IMO. Hopefully AHFOD is a statement of intent from a band that is threatening to become a band defined only by "the early stuff"
  23. I don't blame Rihanna, there will always be genetically engineered pop as long as there is money to be made from it, I just think that Coldplay can do a hell of a lot better then working within it. When people mention her, it's usually as a representative of how Coldplay have become more mainstream and unimaginative. I honestly don't know anyone could think GS has better production than Viva - Eno brought all the colour and energy out of those songs. GS is very patchy production-wise IMO, Magic is great and clear whereas Another's Arms is completely dead and lifeless - same with Always in my Head. Lots of overproduction I think, stylish but unneeded. Agreed, the lyrics are cringed but I don't think Chris will ever be a good lyricist - Viva is as good as it's getting there I think. As to the sound, I think that pop styling are fine when applied to other things - they've never exactly been early Metallica but why not try things that don't sound like everyone else in the charts? Like Midnight for instance, the kind of electronica they should be doing IMO.
  24. It's not that I want Viva/AROBTTH pt.2 but when they try new things I just wish it wasn't Rihanna-style manufactured pop. Also the fact is, in most peoples minds Coldplay has been decidedly mediocre since 2008.
