  1. I'm fairly confident this is going to be a pop album, lots of horrific "feel-good" songs like Miracles - It's called A Head Full of Dreams ffs. IDK, I just feel that Ghost Stories, with the whole stripped-back theme, was a good chance to try out more experimental and alternative music...which they only did on Midnight. Chris probably sees that as an alternative record and AHFOD will be a return to pop form. Again, just think of all the amazing musicians and genres out there...Aphex Twin with his contortionist melodies and icy beats, Sigur Ros with their epic orchestral rock and progressive tendencies - even U2 would be an interesting collaboration if they could find form. But no, Chris is working with Rihanna. *Sigh*
  2. Imagine if we got a dance flavoured ambient rock record... OR an IDM (NOT EDM!!) abstract album with 10 minute songs and psychedelic guitars ... OR a classically styled orchestral alum with dance beats and big choruses.... How great would that be.... Probably just get more bland Rihanna-pop though.
  3. 1. Politik - Best song they've done. Epic, intense, cinematic, sweeping, powerful, politik. 2. Don't Panic - Underrated, Jonnys guitar is gorgeous 3. Life in Technicolor - Happy, bittersweet and colourful. 4. Square One - Solid opener, driving and energetic 5. MX/HLH - Eno and Jonny save these really - something true of MX in general. 6. AIMH - Good but forgettable and a bit bland. Ghost Stories, basically. They are all good songs and album highlights though. (Though maybe not LIT but only because Viva is such a good album)
  4. Can't stand them.

imo, it's MILES ahead of HFB1 - the first 6 songs are breathtaking - Riverman In the Heat of the Moment The Girl with the X-Ray Eyes Lock All the Doors The Dying of the Light The Right Stuff His best album since Be Here Now for me.

So it leaked....and it's AMAZING. Absolutely brilliant - no weak tracks and a handful of stone dead classics. Hail to the chief.

This is going to be an amazing album. C'MON NOELY G!!
  10. If you want that then check out...every other Coldplay album XP
  11. If they want to try electronica then they should just go for it and make an electronica album rather than just taking a normal song and putting a drum machine on it and thinking you're Aphex Twin :) Don't think that'll happen on lp7 though - that feels like a beginning of something rather than a completion - so maybe next cycle - I think lp7 will be "An Album Full of Feel-Good Bright Songs That Are Better Than MX, X&Y, GS but Not as Good as VLV, P, or AROBTTH...AND NOT ELECTRONICA"

Love loads of music, from Aphex Twin to Sigur Ros, but Coldplay, Oasis and Radiohead remain my favourites and I still have long hair and spend too much time listening to In Rainbows dressed as a French revolutionary :)

Still can never listen to this album in full...get bored after 5-6 songs... One of those albums that seems less than the sum of it's parts - as opposed to Parachutes.
