#Resist
I'm from rural Ohio. Most of my friends IRL support Trump. A lot of them hate Muslims and are very nationalistic. They believe that the U.S. is a Christian state and that racism doesn't exist. I consider cutting them out of my life all the time. I didn't know they were that way until they started sharing their views on social media. My conscience isn't clear.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I can never play Jonny's riff for "Always in my Head". Been trying over and over.

Everglow Guitar Solo
I love Jonny's solo in this song, no matter how simple it is. I am trying to figure out what effect he's using to reach those harmonized, high-pitched notes towards the end of the solo. Sounds like a Micro Pog pedal is being used but I could be wrong. There are no videos showing what he does exactly (from what I've attempted to search). Maybe he's using a Digitech Whammy but I thought he stopped taking those on tour.

Radiohead
Been trying to watch pro shots of their recent shows but their aren't many (understandably) Thom Yorke is such a character live. Not talking about his dancing - let's get that outta the way. -Talking about his interaction with the audience, which is pretty endearing and sweet. He did a lot of that for the Outside Lands performance

Don't Let It Break Your Heart!
Wow, thanks everyone for the thoughtful and loving responses. I'm sorry I came back late. I did start seeking psychiatric help in the summer of 2015 but it honestly hasn't improved my lifestyle much. I did meet some good people while in the psychiatric ward/facility and still talk to some of them today. I went there for a failed suicide attempt. I'm fine now though. BTW, not baiting for sympathy. This was just what happened. I wish I could quote every person that responded to my two sentences but... hopefully you all see this too. I still try to occupy myself with other activities (like music) and talking, instead of letting thoughts build up in my mind. Reading about your depression... it is not easy to do. I always wish that I could help other people but the best I can do is listen and be there. I'm wishing for the best in your life as well.

Don't Let It Break Your Heart!
Been depressed for about 4 years. Have been sinking deeper into it the past few weeks. Having a lot of bad thoughts. I'm trying to think positive and am keeping from reacting to seriously to my mental state.

Which CP song has the most special meaning to you?
Yellow - the first song I heard by them. Saw it on MTV2 and thought they were some indie band. I was 12 at the time. Politik - The song felt like bliss when I first heard it, especially the second half. Square One - I was in high school and had no friends. This song sounded big but close. Midnight - Helped me with depression Always in my Head - One of my favourite songs from a purely musical standpoint. Gorgeous melodies and sound design, despite being so simple. Also reminded me of someone I was in love with, at the time.

Which words do you find annoying?

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Is there an in depth overview or list of the guys', or at least Jonny's, instruments and gear? There's a page on Equipboard but I don't really find it reliable. I know Jonny most frequently plays Fender (72 Thinline Teles, Strats, Jaguars, Jazzmasters) and Bill Nash "S" Strat copies. He occasionally plays Gibson (Les Paul and ES-335). I think he played a Rickenbacker 360 before and some Gibson and Martin acoustics.

2016 Albums Worth Listening To
I haven't found anything I love so far this year. I liked Radiohead's album but didn't love it the way I love In Rainbows. King of Limbs was also good but not great imo. Actually I really liked a metal album by this band called Vektor. Whoops, forgot to say I liked Blood Orange's album a lot as well.

===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
I kind of saw the progression in their sound starting from X&Y days honestly. I'm not surprised at how poppy they've decided to go though they still wrote their stadium rock tunes like "Up&Up" and "Hurts Like Heaven"

Are solo artists technically just frontpersons of uncredited bands?
It works for artists how have the funds to pay session and touring musicians. They aren't seen as a band because the supporting musicians and collaborators are seen as interchangeable. The solo artist serves as the main face and voice. If you were just a local, unsigned artist you probably wouldn't get away with having a band and getting all the attention for yourself lol.

Saddest lyrics in a Coldplay song ?
Midnight is their saddest song, in my opinion
