  2. Hey everyone, This is one for you guitarists out there. I saw a sale of guitars in a catalog this weekend. I have never really played a guitar before, so i am a beginner. I saw one in the catalog, on sale, for $149, it includes: an electric guitar, amp and a DVD that teaches you. Should I go out and buy this one, or should i start out with an acoustic guitar. I'm really excited about learning and playing one. Another question is should i teach myself, or should i get professional lesson? Cheers, Jared (yellowtalk)

I really want to get the Jonny Buckland sound (like with delay and reverb and everything) but I don't want to spend the money on all the individual pedals listed on: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25864&page=3&highlight=jonny+pedal+board I was wondering if anyone could recommend another pedal, possible multi-effects that is affordable and that can give me the kind of sound I am hoping for. I have read on the forums about the: Zoom 505 II and Digitech RP-200A Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This has probably been asked before, but if I want a slightly distorted, crunchy sound that isn't too disorted, should I spend $99 on an MXR micro amp? I want a slightly distorted-clean sound but not necessarily a volume boost. I've read about the Ibanez tube screamer being good at 'slight dist' sounds.

hey:) all coldplay piano notes i have are written in 3 lines, because it is transcripted for vocal and piano. That means one line for left hand, one for the right and one for the voice. I can't sing:\ , so i always have to make 2 lines out of three. That is sometimes difficult and/or sounds bad. Does anyone have piano notes with only 2 lines for the hands? Thanks in advance jan (If a similar thread exists, just ignore and please be so kind and post the link, thx:) )

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Joined because I'm trying to find out the correct gutar tab for this song. I've tried CACGBE but the tab I do have for this tuning doesn't sound right in the middle sections i.e "The wheels just keep...." and the end section "Just say you'll wait...." Any ideas anyone? Thanks for looking. Albertjohn

Hi everyone ! It's been a while since I've posted here. I can still see some familair peeps and there's plenty of new ones. To be honest, I've just been dead busy and just popped in from time to time to see what's going on. I read glarbinator's thread on posting recordings of songs a few days ago and seeing as we were recording Square One at the time I thought I'd put it up when we finished it. So here it is :- http://www.coldplace.co.uk/audio.htm I'll come clean and confess it was done in a recording studio so the mix is a teeny bit better than the home recordings that have been posted on here ;) , but I love Coldplay's music so I really enjoyed listening t…

I desperately need a decent recording minus crowd of the opening 'tick tock' of Square One for a Coldplay tribute band I'm the Bass player in. We've got a massive gig coming up in May and would really like it as an opener for when we start Square One.. Can anyone help at all? I've managed to sample a small portion from an MTV live mp3 version when the crowd is at its quietist and looped it for about 10 minutes but it's not the best.. If you can help I'll buy you all an ice cream! :D

Hi Guys. We did a gig on Friday night and I managed to record some songs via my Camcorder which my girlfriend was using to film us.. I've not edited them or anything, just recorded from the camcorder's microphone which I then created a couple of mp3's from the footage.. We've only been together for just on a year, it's not like we're professional or anything... Just love what we do! Sounds better live obviously. We play Coldplay covers, we don't pretend to be Coldplay or anything :laugh3: , just all big Coldplay fans that really love playing their songs.. We don't even do it for the money, just for the pure love of their music and to share the best band in the world t…

  11. Musicnotes Inc. said Thursday that it has reached agreements with “several thousand” music publishers that will allow the online digital sheet music provider to offer free guitar and drum tablature downloads through its new Web site. Musicnotes of Madison will offer the downloads through MXTabs.net, to be launched this summer. The site was acquired by Guitar Tab L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Musicnotes, in March. Guitar tablature, or tabs, are transcriptions of music presented in a text-based format that has become increasingly popular with guitarists online, Musicnotes said. Separately, Musicnotes said it has contracted Rebel Digital, a new digital adve…

At the moment I am writing songs all the time cos I want to be in a Coldplayish band playing Coldplayish music. I am recording stuff onto my PC with 'MAGIX Music Studio 11' software but the PC has 'been through the wars' and now keeps crashing every time I record a big project. I've been looking at multi-track recorders like the Boss BR-600 but does anyone know what would be better, to get a new computer or an external multi-track recorder to transfer data on the PC? Thanks:)

I've been into Coldplay for over a year now and I am obsessed about getting the Coldplay sound on my guitar. I want to know if anyone knows how Jonny gets so much sustain in things like 'God put a smile' and 'A Rush of blood' (live 2003 solo). Is it his rat distortion or the loudness of his amp or what? I don't have a rat or any of his FX- only a Zoom G1-X multi-FX pedal. Thanks

When Jonny plays the riff in Fix You, is he muting other strings? I've watched a ton of videos of Fix You and it always looks like Jonny has other fingers on the fretboard and is doing something else. I always just play it with one finger while plucking the B string. e----------------------------------------------------------------------------| B--4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4/11-11-11-11\4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4/11-11-11-11\--| G----------------------------------------------------------------------------| D----------------------------------------------------------------------------| A----------------------------------------------------------------------------| E-----…

  21. Ah...hey everyone, well, it doesn't take that much of a musician to hear that the verse of Yellow isn't that particularly difficult for Mr Berryman, and I don't believe the chorus is either..however, I can't seem to figure out exactly what is happening on the bass during the chorus...once i get it I'll be fine, but could someone please tab it for me or something... P.S. please don't link me to a tabsite...cos i havn't found any reliable ones. thank you all!
