so let's explain a bit first: - i'm starting to play the piano ( starting off with a keyboard ) but i have no idea of how to play notes. but i kinda found a solution: i've downloaded a free software program : Click Musical keys piano ( for those who are interested : http://rapidshare.com/files/17063798/clickmusicalkeys.zip.html ) and it looks like this: [ATTACH]22023[/ATTACH] with this program you can , by pressing keys on your pc keyboard, play (amateuristic) piano. what i do is, i watch some videos of people playing songs and i just take over the movemens and i kinda helps me. i figured out how to play clocks and speed of sound on it. but those are the only …

Hey musicians! Can anybody make a "how to play ..." video? if possible exactly like the original notes. i know that this will take some time, but i often wondered in this forum how much time some people spend to help other people. this is not especially for me, although i would also watch it. this is for everybody who wants to learn how to play a coldplay song (or other song). then he can compare this to the notes and maybe even learns a bit how to read notes (would also sth. for you, doritji:) ) If anybody is interested feel free thanks (if a similar thraed exists, ignore. i could not find any by searching)

Can someone recommend a good bit of kit to use to record vocals? I'm only talking for home demos here, nothing too hot needed, I'm using Cubase and I've tried connecting the mic in through the USB audio interface but it was too low, and when I turned the inputs up to full it distorted the sound. The only way I've managed to get decent audible sound on my demos is putting the mic through a guitar multi-FX box and in through the audio interface, and it's better than nothing but I was hoping someone could recommend something good to use for recording vocals. After stringing them into my acoustic I'm very satisfied with the sound; the bottom 3 strings are almost a sort of harpischord sound the top 2 are nothing special though. Apparently they are coated in something that stops them from rusting and snapping.

Just wondering what effects pedals do ye play with? i dont have much myself, a few cheap Behringer pedals so far. However i shall, eventually, get a delay, big muff, loop, compressor and overdrive pedal. anyone ever use a compressor? i was thinking of getting a cheap Behringer one(its suppose to be close to the Boss version)

I was thinking of getting the Micro Korg Synthesizer, just wondering has anybody ever used one? if so what did ye think of it? I was looking at the ALESIS MICRON aswell but you use the Micron more on the fly yeah? i mean the micro korg has presets and stuff which is what id prefer i'd be using the synth with my keyboard and would be hoping to create a bit of keane type stuff (like from 'Under the Iron Sea') Any help or advice on which synth is the best to start off with or just on the microkorg would be greatly appreciated

Wondering how difficult it is to learn to play piano, or whether there are piano TABS... Took three lessons as a kid, but had to quit because my piano teacher would show up at the door in lingerie and I had a huge crush on her and couldn't concentrate... Any help with some easy Coldplay songs and where I can find the TABS or music would be appreciated. I checked out the stickied post at the top but links are inactive.

I got a MO 8 in July and at the time I didn't have enough money left for a keyboard amp. In the meantime I have just been using my guitar amp http://www.zzounds.com/item--FEN0231502000 . I guess what I want to know is if it is worth purchasing a keyboard amp. Will there really be a significant difference?

I've watched a video of White Shadows live on Jools Holland show and there's some close-ups at the very start of Will playing, and during the intro it looks like he's hitting the floor tom, then snare, and alternating between the 2, before the hi-hat/snare combi that makes up most of the song. It also sounds like the floor tom, but on the album I can't make out the sound of the floor tom, only on this live performance. Can anybody else confirm this or am I hearing/seeing things? No clever comments please like "I'm the best drummer in the world and it is obviously..... that Will plays, I can't believe you can't hear that", cos there's far too many people like that on music…
