Coldplay End of Decade Clearout Sale (catalogue discussion pg43 onwards, winning item pics pg151 onw
No offence, but I think that Thinline actually is the "42" one, which was the proper live guitar for the X&Y tour (it still had the white pickguard). Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's pretty awkward that they didn't posted more info about the guitars, since some of them were reissues and but a few were real vintage guitars (the viva 72' thinline, and the "42" [i think!]). In that case, it's kind of ironic that the "42" guitar is going to go a lot cheaper than the reissues. Still, major congratulations all!!

I remember hearing Will and Guy rehearsing the main riff of White Shadows. Jonny then joined for the bridge part. You couldn't hear Chris very much. I don't think they played the chorus, but the outro synths was played. So yeah, they sure rehearsed it or the soundguys can remove layers and stuff :P

Love it!
I hope and think that they will start playing this live with an extended outro, freaking out.. Many bands tends to skip the "heavy" parts on studio versions for some reason. A good example is "About Today" by The National, which on the EP (Cherry Tree) is quite mellow and not so "heavy" whereas the live version has an absolutely awesome heavy outro which last for like 5-6 minutes. Well, another example is GPASYF which has a lame outro on ARBTTH and a kick-ass one live (please, scrap the disco thing....:S) So, a rock-the-hell-out-outro, and it's a great live song in my opinion

lit violet hill clocks in my place speed of sound cemeteries of london chinese sleep chant 42 fix you strawberry swing gpsuyf talk amsterdam(part) the hardest part postcards from far away viva la vida lost the scientist death will.. politik lovers in japan death and all his friends yellow Yeah, it was an awesome concert indeed, better than the one three years ago I think. The only thing that bugs me is that he started Amsterdam and sang the first verse, but stopped because they "hadn't played the song in three years" (köpenhamn 2005?). He also stated that "you should rehearse before comming to stockholm". He looked really embarrased actually! =)

Guy's Jaguar bass
On the mtv awards guy had switched his pickguard on the precision bass. the white jaguar fits with the arty pickguard though.

The Problem with Viva la Vida
I dont understand why some people look at songs as different individual performances combined. I think it's better to look at a song as one big part. Yes, there's a very simple drumbeat in this song, but they probably felt like the song got better if the drums were "anonymous". They're not "i must have a solo in the song" type of guys as you know, so I think they easily can "sacrifice" their parts in songs just to get them better. Well, I don't know if I made myself clear of what I mean but, eh.

GPASUYF - Twisted Logic Tour
For this outro he uses the Mxr phase 90 pedal, and a few others I suppose.
