The Australian reported yesterday that Beijing has begun to consider a move that would have outraged the world fifteen years ago, but which might get tacit support now that North Korea has gone nuclear: THE Chinese are openly debating "regime change" in Pyongyang after last week's nuclear test by their confrontational neighbour. Diplomats in Beijing said at the weekend that China and all the major US allies believed North Korea's claim that it had detonated a nuclear device. US director of national intel…

The issue had become intertwined with Turkey's efforts to join the European Union. The bill must still be passed by the Senate and be signed by President Jacques Chirac. France's minister for European affairs, Catherine Colonna, said right before the vot…

Contestant makes worst ever Mastermind score Last updated at 10:06am on 18th October 2006 Humiliation: Simon Curtis scored just one point in his specialist knowledge round wers and just one point - this embarrassing tally represents Mastermind's lowest ever first round score. Simon Curtis' 'specialist' knowledge of the films of Jim Carrey turned out to be more than a little shaky as he took to the intimidating black chair in front of questioner-in-chief John Humphrys last night. Once he had passed on the first three questions, things just went from bad to worse. And even eight points in the following general knowledge round was not enough to s…

A survey by store chain, Woolworths has revealed that women burn up 193 calories on a typical shopping trip. According to a report in The Sun, the survey has found that women walk around dozens of stores and clock up 133 miles a year. However, most women do not regard shopping as proper exercise. The report says that Woolworths quizzed 4,500 women about their shopping habits and worked out that 4,059 steps are taken each time they go hunting for bargains, which is almost half the daily number of steps recommended by heart specialists. …

Last updated at 23:28pm on 17th October 2006 Overtoun Bridge in Scotland where so many dogs have jumped to their deaths For Donna Cooper, the worst thing about watching her collie dog, Ben, leap to his death has been the effect it has had on her two-year-old son Callum. However, the remaining 20 per cent of left leaning cheek to cheek kissers are 'less emotional' than their right leaning counterparts, according to a study. Researche…

Yesterday I went to the cinema to watch this film and I had a nice surprise. (Actually I expected it was good, but I left the cinema feeling it was even better than good). The story is about 2 stepbrothers who their mother didn't look after during their childhood (she only cared of her affairs). One of them, Michael, is a biologist and is one of those persons who are way too shy and hasn't had any treat with women. The other one, Bruno, is obsessed with sex. And 2 women, appear in the life of these characters... and they've to take a decission. Has anyone seen this film? The story is based on the novel of Michel Houellebecq. Has anyone read it? There're also som…
