My dog has a lot of fleas. I went to the vet to ask her what I should do about it, and then I was unsuspectingly treated to an entire seminar on the life cycle of the flea. I was all: "I DON'T CARE WHAT THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF LIFE OF A FLEA IS. I JUST WANT MY DAMN FLEA KILLING STUFF!"

I don't know... apparently, to 'slay the flea' you must 'understand the flea', and in that you 'become the flea', therefore you are able to 'destroy the flea'.

 

... I just totally made all that up. It sounded pretty cool while it lasted though.
