I cant believe there wasnt a thread for this yet... so here it goes..

Tonights show was probably one of the best Grammy's I have ever seen in a real long time!! I had no idea Franz Ferdinand was even nominated!! I dont think they won any though... :embarrased: The opened up the show along with 4 other acts in a conclusion to the act was a giant mish mosh of all the songs performed at once.. which I thought was pretty cool because the pre shows kept emphasizing on how different music is morphing different sounds together like gospel and hip hop.. and rock with rap, country and r&b.. etc... but for me the best performance was from Kanye..... damn! That all I can say, I was jumping around my living room like if I was on stage right there with him. And I am sooooooooo gald he won rap album of the year. I wish he would have gotten best new artist but stooooopid Maroon 5 got it.. I love Alicia Keys performance solo and her duet with Jamie Foxx... was great!!

so what were your favorite Grammy moments.. ?

Blimey Camu!!! How many million bling for that post?

haha! nah... only 50!:laugh3: Thats a shame, huh!? I could've sent a link.. but that was my shameless attempt to earn some pints... yea I said it, PINTS! That was a brill idea Jen... but alas.. I have to vote for my Nappies!! lol :P

Back to topic... I thought about this... and realized, why do we have to wait til a person passes to recognize the musical greatmess that they were? I'm talking about Ray Charles... the man was a genius in his artform.. but it isnt until he dies that the man gets Record of the Year... I think it was well deserved... but as everyone knows.. now his record is going to go Diamond if it hasnt already due to the publicilty this win has given him. (not that he needed the publicity...) but I think you know what I mean. I for one hope everyone goes out and listens for John Legend... he's great and his voice is so pure.. and soulful.. *nods* bah well.. I know many think that award shows a garbage.. that the Grammy's and Brits are 'popularity' contests... but this years Grammy's (IMHO) were well deserved... except for that garbage woth Britney..... she obviously slept with somone for that vote... :laugh3:

They tend not to do that over here. You get lifelong achievement awards and usually the person is still alive.

last night a few 'living' artist received Lifetime Achievement awards.. Led Zepplin was one of them... Jerry Lee Lewis..(I had no idea he was still alive!) :laugh3: Pinetop Perkins (or Owens I think) -jass musician and a few others.. I was just referring to the fact that Ray seemed to be on focus last night.. which is great... but its a shame he had to die first.

I like two things about the grammys

when the artists gathered on stage and sang The Beatles - Across The Universe

and the second thing is when Kanye West said "What would of happened if I didn't win ? I guess we'll never know"
