Our Lady Peace

yea. Everybody is like "Hey Gravity is complete crap". I honestly don't see what's wrong with Gravity. It's just a new sound for OLP. The poor guys are trying to experiment with other music, and everybody is criticizing them for it.

To me it's kind of hard to tell whether they were experimenting with something new or if they're running out of good stuff

I thought Gravity was mediocre: good, but not their best effort. Raine's voice even sounds different which was a bit disappointing.

I think Mike Turner leaving, and Steve Mazur becoming the new guitarist, had a significant role in the change Our Lady Peace made. But apparently the new album whcih they just recorded twelve songs for, is going to be like nothing they have ever released. That could either be really good! or really bad.

I was disappointed that Mike Turner left because he played a huge role in the band. I agree with you that Gravity was probably Steve's "learning experience", and the next album will be better. Did you get the OLP Live cd yet?

no. I may get it. Did you?

well, I have about $230 right now for summer spending. So I guess I could buy it.......

I have about $5 to my name because I pay bus fare every day

I'll probably burn it and listen to that until I save up enough to get the real one.

that's what I do. Like I download the songs. But I eventually buy the cd anyways. Because I'd rather have the real thing than just a copy.

If I really care about the band and want to support them, then I'll buy the cd. But otherwise, what's the point? Cd's are so expensive these days. I'm only willing to pay 15 or 20 bucks for a band that I really like.

I believe that they deserve the money. I mean, they put months and months of work into recording, mixing, and mastering their albums. And they did it all just so that their music could be enjoyed. I believe that the least we could do is spend the twenty bucks to buy the cd they release.

True, but I don't feel guilty when I burn albums. So many fans support the bands by buying their albums, going to concerts, buying paraphanalia. They can afford to have people rip them off once in a while

well yea. If it's a band that has a stable career, and is selling millions of copies of their albums, I'd rip one of their albums. But if it was a band that is trying to get to their feet in the industry, I'd buy their record.

Yeah, it definitely depends on how well established they are. The only complete album I've ripped off was Linkin Park's first.

I ripped Happiness..... by OLP of course, but I bought it later.

Off of Gravity, the best songs are Sell My Soul, Bring Back The Sun, and Story About A Girl. That's what I think.

But anyways, yea, it depends on how well established the band is. In the Canadian music industry, bands just starting out need all the help they can get to make it to the top of the industry. In Canada, when an album sells 100 000 copies, it's platinum, in America it's 1 000 000 copies.

America is so ahead of Canada in alot of ways and it bugs me. The U.S.A. is the dominant commercial, social and political country for some reason. I think Canada is a much better country in many ways, but for some reason America gets all the publicity.

I don't know, it's just that America is ahead of us. That's all.

I think Canada is a much better country in many ways.

duh, thats because you're from Canada

My mate saw them @ Brixton Academy (LONDON), they rocked supporting Avril!!!!!!!!!!

i like a few songs from Gravity, like All For You, Bring Back The Sun, Somewhere Out There and Innocent, im getting rid of it because the songs just dont do anything, except for the 4 i like, there just not exciting in anyway.

I think Canada is a much better country in many ways.

duh, thats because you're from Canada

I may be partial to Canada, but I do think it's true.

It should be soon. I don't know the exact date.

Go Steve! I love that guy. I kept yelling 'Go Steve!' at their concert in Edmonton. I don't know what came over me.
