The new lyrics totally freak me out :o "Oh brother, I can't believe it's true..."??? "You can climb a ladder up to the sun..."??? "Write a song that's never been sung..."??? God, they don't belong there! Maybe this is their attempt at experimentation in contrasts and new styles, but the opening line sounds like it should go into a soul album :P The other lines sound WORSE than cliched...
