the acoustic I just worked out on Square One. Its pretty simple...

0---0---0----0

5---2---9----7

6---2---9----8

7---4---11---9

7---4---11---9

5---2---9----7

I know that these are definatly the chords used. Chris never uses bar chords. Its always his thumb so learn to do that if you want to learn any Coldplay.

son of a bitch. I'm guessing you have to use your thumb? my hand's too small :'(

I'll just stick to power & barre chords :)

Excellent job with kingdom come, Will Foster!!!!!!! :)

t-bone

Alot of it sounds good, but the "For you id wait part..." is not.. I saw chris on aol.com playing it on a concert... i dont know how to tab, but using your same tuning the chord should be:

EAGCBE

887008 OR

087008

I dunno... I just remember seeing chris move down to play it instead of playing Fmaj... Check it out. thoughts?

Thanks btw! :)

How the hell do you do all these funky tunings? My tuner only has EADGBe.

I'm new to geetawr.

a message:

there's no need to use F Bb Eb Ab Ab Db tuning (you have to tune SIX strings)

with E A D G Ab Db tuning chords are:

verse:

Db (9 11 11 10 0 0)

Fm (1 3 3 1 0 0)

Ab (4 6 6 5 0 0) x2

(on the 3rd verse there's a variation: Ab x1 F# x1)

chorus:

Eb (11 13 13 11 0 0)

Db (9 11 11 10 0 0)

Ab (4 6 6 5 0 0)

and F#, Fm, Ab for the "and i've got to get that message home" line

and coda:

F#, Fm, Ab, Bbm

F#, Fm, Ab, Bbm

F#, Fm, Ab, Bbm

F#, Fm, Ab, Db

:)

I have seen a Message tabbed with a capo and without one.. which is it?

anliam's one is the one chris uses.

square one

(the whole song for acoustic)

tuning:

verse:

C#m(7) x 3 1 3 0 0

F 1 3 3 2 0 0

"from the top of the first page":

C#m 10 12 12 10 0 0

Bb 6 8 8 7 0 0

Ab 4 6 6 5 0 0
