Miggy D
I heard that one time, in history class, Thom Yorke passed Chris Martin a note that said, "Do you like me?" It had 3 boxes underneath the question, one marked 'Yes', one marked 'No', and one marked 'Maybe.' Chris, in typical, indecisive fashion, checked 'Maybe' and Thom was offended. And so it all began. -Miggy
awoeonip
quote from 5/30 issue of Newsweek: Martin admits he winced when Radiohead's Thom Yorke, one of his heroes, labeled Coldplay "lifestyle music"-a dig at the band's universality in films, stores, airports, and Mom's iPod. "We're like an eager dog just yapping around their heels, and they're trying to kick us away," he jokes.

victaniac
To me it seems like Thom doesn't care much about Coldplay nor Chris. Not in bad way, but not in a good way, either. "Indifferent" is probably the word. I heard that one time' date=' in history class, Thom Yorke passed Chris Martin a note that said, "Do you like me?" I was just playing off that old grade-school stereotype. The two couldn'thave gone to grade school together, anyway - they're 10 years apart in age. :) -Miggy

victaniac
Thom is greater than Chris? In what aspect?... I think Chris is much greater popularity wise, especially since he married Gwyneth and had a child. He's also better than Thom because he's all for making trade fair and promotes Oxfam! I don't know much about Thom, but it seem like he has this bigheaded-ness (I love inventing words) of when too many people praise you. It sucks that he doesn't even acknowledge Chris despite him saying how much he looks up to him. Go Chris! lol :D :P
awoeonip
In terms of musicality (how's that for invented words? :P), I think Thom is a far more proven musician than Chris currently. As overall people go, I don't think I could pick one over the other
*Justine*
Well, since they are the lead singers of two of the biggest bands this day in age, I am not surprised that they fight a little.
galraedia
When they were staying at an LA hotel when they both had gigs (Radioheads HTTT tour and Coldplays AROBTTH) and obviously both felt it necessary to be in the most luxurious hotel, Chris reportedly tried to talk to Thom Yorke as they passed in the corridoors but Thom just ignored him... :/
MoonLife
I'm new, but I've just gotta put this down, man: Thom on Chris: "You won't catch me making any malicious comments on Chris Martin." "I heard people singing like me and it just made me feel quite...depressed." Chris on Thom: "Thom Yorke ignored me at a hotel and I was secretly a bit gutted. I'm sure he recognised me. " On Radiohead: "We're not as good musically but we're much more attractive." You should watch the speech of radiohead at 2002 Q Awards. you can see chris in a state of euphoria. Cheese Nip 2
I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard Thom is very cold and unfriendly man. Of coarse I read this online and have never met the guy, so I have no clue if that is true....
rainplay
A couple of people I talked to over at atease told me how they met him after some gig and he was really nice. Soo who knows
MoonLife
Well, the perception the media gives of Thom Yorke is that he's cold, and aloof and such. And he is this to people sometimes. However, he is usually described as very affectionate and happy. His music also adds to his cold persona, even though he's not cold atall "it's weird to see the public representation of thom," ventures jonny greenwood after a time, "because it's quite different. I find thom to be very affectionate and child-like."

I think Thom is definetally in his own world though. Maybe that's why people think he's being cold?

MoonLife
Anyway, (that weren't to you cheese-nip 2), but yeah, because he shuns publicity and he doesn't like that materialistic stuff, the media take what they have, and all that they have about Thom Yorke is that he's moody, so they exaggerate it to make a profit. Yea, I trust Jonny Greenwood. And I agree, that mr yorke is in his own world, but isn't everyone?
