June 5, 200521 yr Both had HUGE expectations Both had GLOWING initial reviews Both albums had EVERY song written as an epic Both albums are OVERLY long Both albums are WAY over-produced Both albums were overly SAFE and boring Both albums FLOPPED (just wait for X&Y to sell less than half of what AROBTTH did) Both albums caused a massive BACKLASH against each band (wait for it in Coldplays case) The only difference between the two albums is that Be Here Now is listenable and quite good in parts. X&Y is music for grannies. Thems are just the facts. honestly---I wanted so much from this album----but it is absolute SHITE :(
June 5, 200521 yr I may be the mother of grannies, considering how much I love X&Y. Quite a title, at 21!
June 5, 200521 yr sweet. OMG how many bad critics will I read about that? Tomorrow I'm gonna buy the album...I've got quite scared now  I just can say...Be Here Now bores me after some time...
June 5, 200521 yr Believing bad critics is useless...I don't really like the album until now...but that can change any second.. Bye the way, everyone has it's own taste...
June 5, 200521 yr Both albums FLOPPED (just wait for X&Y to sell less than half of what AROBTTH did) This is absolutely not the case with X&Y, just look at the presale numbers. It's huge, this album will definately be a big success in terms of sales.
June 5, 200521 yr but if coldplay hit out with somthing as crap as 'standing on the shoulders of giants' (oasises 4th album) that would be coldplay down the drain
June 5, 200521 yr Am i alone in regarding Be Here Now as a fuckin good album? Alot of the songs are really really long but if u actually have the attention span to listen to it all, then it's a good set of songs! As for you dcbc, i suggest u go to the oasis forum and bitchslap coldplay, you're dishing out unfair and unconstructive criticism. balls.
June 5, 200521 yr Be Here Now is a good album, but X&Y is much better. Plus Coldplay weren't doing lines of coke while recording X&Y, while as Noel and the rest of the band were doing so during the Be Here Now sessions.
Thems are just the facts. honestly---I wanted so much from this album----but it is absolute SHITE :( dcbc, I know a posting such as yours is so pathetic in its execution that it shouldn't even warrant a response but I must put in my 2 cents. If you are serious about x&y=be here now, and you are not some kind of sad oasis troll then you have no ear or inkling of what good music is. I own Be Here Now and it is RUBBISH compared to Oasis's previous albums. X&Y holds its own quite remarkably well with its two predecessors. I know it's hard for you take dcbc, what with oasis not being even close to a shell of its former arrogant pugilistic self. Just because coldplay owns oasis doesn't mean that their third album in any way resembles the brilliance of X&Y.
June 11, 200521 yr Both albums FLOPPED (just wait for X&Y to sell less than half of what AROBTTH did) This is absolutely not the case with X&Y, just look at the presale numbers. It's huge, this album will definately be a big success in terms of sales. Well, BHN is still the fastest selling album in the UK history (750,00 in first week), but in the long run sales dropped dramatically. For example, when 'Don't Believe The Truth' was released some of the old albums came back to the top 100 (that always happens with every band btw, when a new album is out the old ones sell more) and BHN was not there, but WTSMG, DM and HC were. But I wouldn't say an album that sold over 7 million copies flopped. I think X&Y will be similiar in a way that Coldplay will never have so much hype over an album release like they're having now. I believe the casual music listeners will lose interest in Coldplay, but they're still gonna have a large fanbase. That's not Coldplay's fault in any way, the casual music listeners don't really appreciate good music and just get bored after a while. Like Noel said, the tilte of BHN sums it up; you had to be there at that time to fully enjoy all the things that today are considered its weakness. I don't think X&Y will be like that at all 5 years from now, so in this they are very different. btw, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants is a great album. It's different from what Oasis used to do but I love it.
June 11, 200521 yr X&Y....granny music? Are you serious? X&Y is the least granny of all three albums...
