or a different is also good !!!!!! :P

i'm not really fond of fix you either. i think what if is much better.

well, i love the song. but it does not really fit on with the rest of the album... it seems more of the old style with just a hint of flavor of the new, but it still rings arobtth in my ears.

It reminds me of the Polyphonic Spree. What with the huge, ridiculous, over-the-top up-with-peopleness. Which is exactly why I love it.

I prefer what if too. The live versions of this song are even better. But I do love Fix you :)

Fix You's a lovely song and follows on from White Shadows wonderfully!

i wouldn't say it doesn't fit because you could almost say that about any song on any album .. an album doesn't have to be all the exact same type of songs :)

I loved the whole x and y cd except for some of the last few songs. It dissipointed me that they were kinda boring! But overall i Was satisfied with the cd...and i would have to say the top 3 best songs where...

"What if"

"Fix You"

"Hardest Part"

I say...GREAT JOB COLDPLAY! :smug:

I can see where you would come from saying that "Fix You" doesn't fit the album I suppose. A lot of the material on the new album is different. Not a total overhaul, but there's obviously something new going on. The end of "White Shadows" sets up for "Fix You" perfectly, however, and the last half of "Fix You" marks what I think of as the CD's first climax. From there, "Talk," "X&Y," and "Speed of Sound" fill out the CD's middle. Only dissapointing thing I noticed is that the CD definately tends to wind down after "Speed of Sound" and loses its momentum slightly in the last 4 tracks or so. Just some thoughts, I'm sure there is someone out there who disagrees lol.

I wasn't a big fan of "Fix you" until I heard it live... When they played it at the end of the set... it was just.... WOOOOOOOW!

Since last week I really love the song :)

lol i disagree!! Swallowed in Ihe Sea and A Message are great songs

I know, I know. Every song on the album is fantastic, don't get me wrong. But I definately think that most of the CD's power is in the first half! OH WELL AGREE TO DISAGREE! :)

I fell in love with it when I saw it played on Letterman. I don't know what I like about it exactly... just the feeling of it I suppose.

mm on any album everyone have his own fave song so that's why albums aren't just a song on it. :idea2:

anyways sometimes i like most a song than others but it depend on how i feel like. :)

e.g. firstly i didn't like Moses, later i liked it. :)

fix you totally belongs on the album..if fix you doesnt belong, then neither does what if, or the hardest part...fix you has earned its place on the album

Man, I know it's a secret one but did you ever heard of 'Toill Kingdom Come I like it so much and for me it's a classic coldplaysong

It does sound Colplay and I'd like to reiterate that the WHOLE CD IS GOOD! I just think that the first half is stronger than the second. BTW Till Kingdom Come was written for Johnny Cash to sing but he died before it could be recorded so it was put on "X&Y" as a tribute.

Well, its on the album and deserves to be there. Fix You is one of Coldplay's greatest songs to date. How it doesn't belong, I have no idea  ...

I have the same with White Shadows  I think that one's overrated...

I think speed of sound is best~~ My favourite~

But the guitar in fix you is pretty good~

Well...I can only say...Fix You is the greatest song on the album.Just because of the fact I have found myself in it...and that was the purpose of this song.It is not interesting for everyone...just for those who have last this moments in their lives...moments described in this song. And that's what it is all about.

I love Fix You! The 4 part harmony at the end is the best! I loved Chris's explanation on that when they did VH1 Storytellers last month!
