Gotta bump this cos i got addicted to incubus again

And i'm still addicted :wacky:

It's fine with me that you bumped it. I love Incubus, and Brandon Boyd can certainly wail.

I like their sound, but I don't have money to buy a CD

It's amazing how late of a release "Love Hurts" has been. Light Grenades has been out forever, and this is a fairly recent single. Go figure.

10 pages only .. :disappointed: what a shame, Incubus deserves A LOT more !

I really like this band too. Make Yourself and Morning View are two of my favorite albums by anyone, so I guess that says it all really.

^ Yeah, I saw them a couple of weeks ago. Acqueous Transmissions is always their closer. It's a killer song.

I think Incubus are one of the best bands going, however, there never is much discussion about them on this board. It's to bad

thanks to the poll i have more albums to check now

so bjaiken which album you advice me to (re)listen then? :)

^ Probably Morning View or Make Yourself, although some of their best stuff is on Light Grenades and A Crow Left of the Murder (which is my least favorite album). Morning View and Make Yourself just happen to be better for the whole length of the album.

Incubus are really, really easy to get into. Their music is very accessible, and it shouldn't take more than one or two listens to decide if you want to continue.

I don't have the first 2 albums, so I can not comment on them.

^ All Incubus music, including Light Grenades, is pretty good. It is great music to turn up loud while driving and sing along with the chorus. It kind of reminds me of a cross between AFI and INXS in that sense. It just rocks. Nothing too heavy in terms of depth, but definitely not disposable music. I don't know, I just like it.

They are also fantastic live. I have seen them 6 times.

yesterday i've listened to Morning View i liked it, i found it softer than light grenades.

listened Make Yourself today, i liked it most, more guitar and so rocky. :D

thanks.

Incubus remind you of a cross between AFI and INXS?

Incubus remind you of a cross between AFI and INXS?

Well, you have to place the comparison in the context of the entire statement. I don't think AFI, INXS, or Incubus would be considered one of the greatest bands of all time, however, if I were to go on a road trip, those would be 3 bands that I would have in my CD player. I have argued many times that there is not a direct correlation between complex music and quality music. Sometimes, simple does the trick. Besides, I think it is ok for music to just be fun.

Also, I think the crunchy radio-friendly guitar sound is similar to later AFI (especially decemberunderground).

And Brandon Boyd has always reminded me of Michael Hutchence. They just seem to have a comparable vibe, and both have very clean, clear vocals.

I bought three of their albums back in 04, Morning View, Make Yourself and S.C.I.E.N.C.E. I mainly only listened to Morning View and Make Yourself...

Now, I enjoy listening to S.C.I.E.N.C.E a lot!!! It's just got these amazing funky basslines and crazy turntable scratchy sounds, maybe a bit 90's sounding but it's a great change from their latest 'safe' sounding songs. Not that I don't love those as well though!
