Which band sounds the most like coldplay to you?

Featured Replies

For me..... athlete.. and keane.

yeahh I don't like Keane too

 agree :smug:

i think sometimes coldplay sounds like doves (not doves sounds like coldplay...)

Keane??? Hell NO!!!! Why do they constantly get compared.. I see no similarities.. and I love them both. Keane is amazing live.. and they are extremely talented. I can't think of any band that sounds remotely like Coldplay... I haven't heard enough of Embrace to come to that conclusion..

^ i agree well i like coldplay alot but keane doesn't suck there okay at coachella they played good but COLDPLAY THE BEST!!!!!!!!!! :)

I dont like U2-------Not one song---am i the only one????????

but Coldplays style does seem similar to U2---a bit :P

i thnik that keane and that kind of bands are just a result from this new british invasion that i think coldplay started...

 agree :smug:

Yep, a lighter Doves... When I listen to Some Cities, it feels like Coldplay could have made that album, especially if they had used other producers.

Also U2 the guitars, Keane the piano, Jeff Buckley the voice.

The production of X&Y itself reminds me of U2, Grandaddy, etc.

keane SUCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKSSSSSS!

Word!!

I listen to Athlete too, and snow patrol :smug:

coldplay have a unique sound!! nothin sounds like them n even if it dus the tiniest bit, theyre nowhere near as gd!

keane don't suck

keane is (for me) the best band in the world

ups i quoted myself :embarrased:

I don't like U2 I don't like Keane,I don't agree that they ''sound' like Coldplay

Blue Merle

just a bit

No other band sound completely like Coldplay. Keane do a bit but they often get compared to Coldplay because they have a piano. Some of Athete's songs do but not all of them. Snow Patrol don't sound anything like Coldplay, well except 'Run'. If you listen to Snow Patrol's or The Reigndeer Section's albums they sound different from Coldplay.

BTW Keane don't suck, they are a really good live band.

:stunned: So I'm not the only one who doesn't like U2. What a relief!!! :dozey:

How abouts Thirteen Senses. Thru the glass and Saving are pretty good songs IMO.

I coludn't help associating Keane to some specific sounds of Coldplay. However,

Coldplay is much better and if other bands are similar is just because of the genre or the piano works. Coldplay's riffs are excellent! By the way a friend of mine told me that Coldplay reminded him of oldies :P 1970's music. I don't know why

The thing I've seen is that any band that used piano after 2003 is compared to Coldplay.

I don't get it...

keane don't suck.. I love keane.. and of, course.. I love coldplay!

U2 anyone?

HELLO! Yes. Absolutely. Especially on this album. When they break into the bridge of Speed of Sound (where it chills out at 3:34) I can SO totally hear U2.

That's not to say that they are trying to be like them, but it's saying they're definately an influence.
