August 22, 200520 yr No the sex pistols most certainly are not EMO. I just used a well known punk band (Sex Pistols) and a well known EMO band (Dashboard) for the sole purpose of genre comparison.
August 22, 200520 yr Dashboard is NOT emo, its not even close, its as emo as coldplay. nothing emo about it. please learn your music..... its Acoustic / Rock / Indie more indie then rock though. people generalize music too much, alot of people who dont understand indie call indie music like dashboard emo.... when they are 2 different types of music.

The purpose of my original message was to simply state that fashion trends have no place in music, and to tell whoever said that EMO was like Punk to compare both genres. I couldn't care less about EMO, I dont even listen to it. I have no desire to. Dont tell me to learn my music. I know plenty of music. This is coming from someone who asked if the Sex Pistols were EMO. :lol: YOU learn YOUR music.
