I want that t-shirt...

:D

i bought that shirt too and the brown one with the picture of the guys in the front---i also bought two buttons for my backpack and the keychain--and the coldplay cap---and the another poster---it was all worth it :P

lilchick629, HOW did you get orchestra seats?!?? I got my tickets from the presale and I still ended up in the terrace :(

d

my bf gave them to me for our anniversary-----he bought them at ebay-----i really enjoyed the concert more closer in those seats than on sunday back in the middle---although---both nights were amazing :P

I went to the Saturday Show 8/20/2005 and I totally agree about the crowd, I was screaming my lungs out and I notice some people really didn't seem like they wanted to be there. The crowd did get louder as the show progress but some people left early to beat the traffic and totally missed the awesome encore was just plain stupid! If you not a big Coldplay fan don't buy tickets, let the real hardcore fans in because you guys suck! I hope my next concert will be fill with hardcore Coldplay fans so we can lose our voices together :D .

By the way,

Leaving early you missed the best part of the show! THE ENCORE

Swallowed In The Sea

In My Place

Fix You

3 of the best songs ever come on people get real and stop being FAKE!

Ah, from your responses, the crowd does seem pretty dull. That sucks. Even Chris said something like, "Don't be California. Don't be LA. Don't be "the OC". I guess he noticed too. Not too many people around me were singing. They mainly just stood. They didn't even move. Gah, I feel bad for them.

Was that the Sunday Show because I didn't hear Chris say that Saturday?

^ yeah it was the Sunday show. He said it before they started The Scientist. He said that on Saturday people weren't singing along to The Scientist and that the whole point is to sing along to this song. I think he said something like that people used to sing along to it all the time but now it changed or somethinng, maybe because there's a new album. I might be making that up though :P . And he said something along the lines of to please sing along to make them feel at least a little bit good about themselves when they leave L.A. a couple days later. Yeah, and he also said something about California, L.A., O.C., and how he knows we're too cool to sing or something. but he said not to be "shy",he said that about three times, haha. And then people didn't sing along! After he practically begged us!! Ugh. You could only hear the crowd when at the end of the song he yelled "oh!" and then the crowd "yeah!" and so on until it got really loud. but that's not even the song! So after that he was satisfied and said something like, "okay thanks, now we can come back home with an ounce of dignity (something like that...?). yeah, does anybody know what exactly he really said?

Oh and I just remembered, does anyone remember when after one of the songs he said that was the best sing-along they have ever gotten? Was that Fix You, or In My Place? Not sure. but he was so totally lying! hahaha.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head there; that's what he said basically on Sunday. Except after the pathetic singalong, Chris said "that was the best I've ever heard it" which is a joke to me...since I've been to a show where the crowd was loud as can be during the singalong part of the scientist, and he didnt even have to give such a speech...everyone just knew to sing cuz they were real fans. real fans know that when the artist stops singing and it's a really good part of the song, that means the crowd is supposed to take over and connect...i mean, sometimes they even turn the mike towards the crowd

Yup, he said that after The Scientist, which I know was a lie because it wasn't loud at all. Nevertheless, it made me happy. Well, near the end of Fix You, Chris stopped singing and the crowd finished the song for him. It was weak, but you can hear them.

hey--i been listening to saturday's concert and its true---the crowd does seem to be kind of down---no one is singing along---no one sings when chris stops singing for the crowd-----

i was singing really loud---but i guess i was the only one-----i still had so much fun though :P

Man, the show at Alpine Valley was the opposite. Everyone was into it and going crazy, and that was 35,000 people.

I went Saturday and all the people around us were singing and into it. People I know who went to both nights said Sunday was dead compared to Saturday.

Too many corporate tickets for big acts like them nowadays.

Still, much better than the set at Coachella (sound setup was not the best for them) and I had a better time than Hollywood Bowl in 2003, though that being my first show and getting a free ticket at the very last minute was priceless ;)

Yanno I had downloaded the show. Killer killer setlist, however the crowd was on the quiet side. I'm listening to it like WTF is wrong with these people. I'm going to see them Sept. 3rd [next Sat] and lemme tell you I'm going to be an absolute maniac. I've heard other live shows and the crows is going nuts. The crowd for this show needed life support. However, on the brighter side maybe there's a reason. Maybe the girls figured if they jumped around too much either [a] their bleached extensions would fall out, or one of their boobs might either pop or bounce up too high and knock em out. As for the guys, if they danced around too much they might get hot, therefore resulting in their eyeliner *puke*

running. I can't fricken wait to go next week. I'll make up for that lame crowd haha

hi--margarita---welcome to the board---i hope you have fun around us

yeah, your right---the crowd is lame---i was screaming my ass off but i guess it takes more than one to be heard----anywho, i had a great time at that concert

you go and have fun with coldplay and make sure to scream till you lose your voice---you give them the claps and screams they deserve :P HAVE FUN

Does anyone know anyone that recorded the show in Chula Vista on Aug. 26th? Please let me know, I'm trying to get that show for my boyfriend's birthday. It was the first time he'd ever seen them and has been addicted to them since I took him. :-) Gotta love that!

Anyway, it was an amazing show, and I'd love to have it. Please email me if you have any information.

Be groovy

^^^ That was a halarious reason for them to be so dead!!!!

Sad...but sounds pretty logical to me!

I would never even sit down if i had a chance to go to their show...not even for the tiniest bit of time. No way! I would spend my time there trying to get up close to the stage and touch the lovelies who are Coldplay. I'd have to be low-key about it so as to not get myself kicked out 'cuz i'd kick myself in the face if i missed a second of it. no bathroom breaks or nothin'

seriously .... :stunned: just...pee...yourself :stunned: :stunned:

I totally wish they wouldn't have had to cancel my concert which i waited MONTHS for  DAMN YOU HURRICANE RITA !!!!

now i'm sad

Okay I recently move from La to the Oc okay......... I didn't go to the Irvine one but I wen to the San diego one and I guess it was not PATHETIC. My friend which is lilchick 629 she told me that people where leave even before they came back to do the encore. Which I really thought that the Sd concert was the Best everyone started to say COLDPLAY! COLDPLAY! after they left the stage and even Chris said that it was the best concert that they have played so yeah thats pretty much it! :D

I was also standing up all the concert with out sitting down I cried when they played Clocks and Fix you the end I have to say I wasn't emmbarass to show what I felt like even my brother was making fun of me what I was doing I jumped I wave my hands everywhere I cried I screamm I dasnce and I enjoyed it I love it so much but also I loved Coachella!

I was there during 8/21 but our crowd was blaring. We got an encore and I swear Chris even said that us in 8/21 were probably the BEST of singing The Scientist that they had seen. We managed to get an encore but I'd have to say that the opening band sucked ass.

But yeah you never know because if you think about it the SD one was in the 8/26 like five days apart so I don't know the opening band I didn't hear much about them because I got their right like when they got off stage!

So you live in the OC or LA :P

there is no secret that the crowd in america is a bit boring and that it takes a lot of effort for bands to get the crowd going. But at the press-conference in norway 31.10. chris martin said that the crowd in the east-side part of USA was very much like the crowd in europa, but in the west they was a bit, well you know, boring and that they had to work hard to get the crowd going.

for real, you could come to norway and experience the fantastic athmosphere we have on our coldplay-gigs! afterall, Norway is coldplays "second-home" :smug:

^Indeed!

A fantastic concert!

The crowd was singing a long on every single song!

Amazing :D

Well it was about two months ago so I can't remember but it was the only concert I've been to and I found it awesome. :D
