At the risk of sounding technologically idiotic, is there any way I can convert AVI movie files to other types, specifically MPEG. There are so many great AVI videos on this forum, I'd like to burn them to a SVCD or something like that. I've searched all over the web and can't find a good *free* program for stuff like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

download one which requires a serial number to unlock the full version or take off restrictions (ilke 30 second file size limit etc) and then ill find you a serial for the program. youre right there arent many free ones around, so go to http://www.download.com, search for avi to mpeg, download one that looks good and does the job, post the name of it here, and ill send u a serial to make it the full version without paying.
