@ Bonita & Shallumstuart --> Thanks :D I thought so, but then the spelling was a bit tricky...

*joins the faint fest* :drunk:

Kewell not a hero ....are you bloody joking...if it wasnt for Guus putting him on we problaby wouldnt have got a goal. He was the main reason for getting the ball to Breschiano. His efforts for the rest of the match were spectacular and he provided many great crosses. Kewell was the reason that we even got a chance, if it wasnt for his cross Scharwzer the GOD wouldnt be able to do his magic. Its allways important to hold possesion even if you dont score because it ensures the other team isnt taking shots. He has been injured a lot for the last 2 years so yes hes been made fun of a lot but I have to bow down for that match, it was probalby his best match in 2 years as well. He was a very good player at Leeds...hopefully he really is now over the injuries and gets some respect at Liverpool and is fully ready for the World Cup, trust me we will need some one like him to shine. Kewell has the potential to be our most important player in the World Cup, a fully fit Kewell makes our chances that little bit better.

arent u aussies lucky

coldplay better come to new zealand

Oops, got the villain wrong --> I meant Viduka (who missed the penalty) :embarrased: Sorry, I misread your post Adam, you must be :furious3:

:dead: *runs and hides* :vanish:

And I didn't really know the whole story besides coz I didn't see the match / have not read any detailed match reports either... The only thing I did know is that the result was a draw over the 2 matches and that it was settled over penalties (which Australia won). Thank goodness I didn't poke more fun at Kewell (I very nearly did)... that could've made me Australia's public enemy #1... The only reason why I did make him the fall-down guy was coz of what Bonita said earlier about someone missing the penalty (which I somehow misremembered to be him) :P Guess I should be more careful next time, sowee :embarrased:

Talking about which, high time I invested a bit more time following the football team... *goes off to check Soccernet.com for the post-match report* Before this thread, I think I've only heard of Kewell, Viduka, Tim Cahill, Lucas Neill, Brett Emerton, Lazaridis (didn't know he was Australian??? ) and Schwarzer. Btw, you people need to spell his name better, it's Sch-warz-er  :P Oh, and let's not forget the coach Guus Hiddink :idea2: . So, can't say I know a whole lot about the team. Actually it's not that bad, that's half the team  ... But the only face I might recognise is Kewell's and he's the only one I know plays occasionally for Liverpool (Btw, which club's Viduka at?). I know the England team far better :uhoh2: time to switch alliances huh? :sneaky:

Lesson for the day: Read posts more carefully to avoid potentially sparking off international incidents :dizzy:

So is his friend who saved his ass Schwarzer the God. (middlesbrough goal keeper)

gentleparachute> thats ok I forgive you ;) Viduka was dissapointing, however he did quite good in the first leg, champion players have missed penalities before so I guess it hapens to the good of us. Baggio missed a penalty in the 94 World Cup final and consequently Italy did not get to hold the World Cup. Hopefully that was a once off and he leads the side (captain) well in the World Cup.

babo> sorry to hear about no dates for coldplay yet, heard something to do with the entertainment centre they are building there not being available in time, hope you guys not left out to long

So that's why there're no NZ dates? Aww... that's so sh*tty. When's it supposed to be ready?

@Footie --> So that's two players at Boro, and two for Liverpool (Kewell & Tim Cahill right?)... I'll try to remember that ;) And Adam, I'm sure the players will play so well for the World Cup... I mean you've finally made it to the finals after so long... I'm sure that whatever else happens, at least the attitude will be right, and everybody will be playing their hearts out for the team :)

Nah Tim Cahill is at Everton....Liverpool and Everton are enemies

The Merseyside derbies are allways great

coldplay is ace :wideeyed:

What you didnt know that? :smug:

:embarrased: *sigh* there goes another one... I don't pay attention to the Merseysiders too much... My eyes are trained on to Manchester (we're having far too many woes lately). I guess I'll shut up about Australian footie for now lest I end up making another worse-than-Barthez-the-clown blunder :P

And yes Bonita *totally agrees* Coldplay are great :pleased: Spread the love!

While we wait for Coldplay to perform.....

Schwarzer fans should check out this link of the Guardian Unlimited Football site (Some UK site)
