i think you should get her to listen to some of their music before she makes a decision and if possible let her watch the Live 2003 DVD documentry and she'll see they are lovely people!

Well,it's because of that:

 

On friday I'll go to the coldplay concert and I'll go there alone but I'll meet there a girl (Sarah) from this forum....my mother worries about me now (Ok I can understand it,because I'm alone etc....)

she thinks that the people I meet there would give me drugs and would kidnap me!!!She just sees the negative side of life and she seems to have prejudices against youth people....she only seems to know these stupid people who are in the motnings at stations and already drinking alcohol and criminal....I tried to assure her that they are like me...but I think she isn't convinced yet!!!I don't know what to do.... :/ :(

You should tell that you'll be going with Sarah, who's also in the Coldplaying forums. Well, she's just worried, my mom's like that as well but if you can assure her that the person you'll go out with in the concert is just the same as you, she might change her view about it.

lol Coldplay isn't one of these concerts where everyone in sight is stoned, so if your worried you'll be safe as well!

 

but i think you should just ask her to trust you, i'm sure you've been to places on your own before and been fine, and this time will be the same but they'll be loads and loads of people around you so its unlikely you'll be kidnapped and no one sees at all! :) she needs to put her trust in you

She said she is in general worried about chatting with other people because you hear so many bad things.....I told her that you are no Rammstein fans......and AAAAArrrrrrgggggghhhhh it really makes me upset that she thinks like that about the world.....she doesn't see the good things only trusts in the bad things you hear... :cry: :cry: :cry:

aww i think you've just gotta go and when you come back you can tell her all about it, no drugs, sex and violence lol then she'll know that she has done the right thing by letting you go

Yes I told her that.....we'll see but I still could cry that she is so sceptic about that.....ok she is my mother,mothers have to be worried but she immediately thinks the worst....she seriously said I should give her the adresses of the people I meet there,because she wants to know where to search if I don't come back...

Oooh, it's really hard to convince your mother...she doesn't know that there are also nice people here. Do you and Sarah talk over the phone? I don't know if it would work, but here in the Philippines, my mom trusts my friends who talks to her...Maybe if she gets to know Sarah, then she'll realize that she's wrong about what she thinks about us.

Yes she stiil lets me go...she said if she wouldn't have trust in me she won't let me go.....I didn't talk much about that with my dad.....but I think he doesn't see it the sceptical....maybe that are just the mother instincts!

well, your mom allowed you to go, at least she trusts you well enough... :)

yeah mother's are more like that. Tell her that you don't like her being so sceptical and she could ruin what could be a fanatastic night for you

I think I'll tell her that I'm really sad about that.....I think she doesn't know me enough...I get the impression....she doesn't seem to know that I would never want to meet people who are criminal and alcoholics..........ok maybe she is so sceptic because I've never met the people before...but I think you know when people are criminal even if you only know them by chatting or something like that!

Rule Nr. 1:

Don't talk too much with your parents about your all-day-life. It's always better to have some little secrets, so your parents won't get worried.

 

My parents are pretty nervous in this aspect - I even don't tell them, if something hurts me or so, becaus my mum would get soooo worried and send me to every doctor she can find! That sucks, damn, I'm 19 years old.

 

And you're nearly 18. Well, your mother let's you go so just do it, even if she's still worried. Maybe she'll notice then, that you can stay on your own.

Its a strange experince I have found when meeting people for the first time you have met over the internet.... ! However any time I have its only been like minded people from here... I wish personally we could have a Europe/ US meetup...

Yes I can imagine that it is strange.....but I don|t worry about it....people here are too nice for it!

well I went to jail for 3 years when I was 16. And I stole 5,000$ worth of stuff last week, but I'm not a criminal. And tell your mom I'm definitely nice. Lately I've reduced the amount of punching to 3x a week with my friends.
