Well it could be worse, you could have survived various horrible problems involving all kinds of banning spamming blame games, it all gets messy, this forum is very good, were all horribly imperfect but we get a long and we even like it like that. We love this forum enough to stick by others even when we know their wrong, because were wrong almost all the time. :lol:

first off let me just say...

 

thanks ever so much on your compliment to Coldplaying.. :blush: we try our best and try to ensure that everyone here has a good time and stays friendly... granted we all have our scwabbles with others, but thats where the beauty of the 'ignore' feature comes into play.. ;) We do not tolerate any form of abuse by other members, nor do we encourage it. We try to maintain a healthy board for everyone to enjoy. HOWEVER.... being as I do post on both boards.. I enjoy both. Sure the official board has some crass people.. but thats actually what I enjoy... its funny at times.. the sarcasm on that board is hilarious.. and it does take some time getting use to.... Of course.... these opinions are solely my own... I don't speak on behalf of Coldplaying.. ;)

 

I think the official is messy.. I wish it was better kept.. but its nice to know that there is an alternative to the official.. think of this place as the 'official fansite' if you will.. Nothing else compares.. :wink3:

The internet is more of a free speech culture than our society claims to be. Which is prob one of the reasons why the mods haven’t deleted some of the ‘rubbish’ .

 

The majority of posts in the threads on Christianity and poverty for instance are mentally stimulating and at least they try to justify what they say with evidence and reason.

 

The thread ‘if you are a Christian DO NOT read this as it may be offense’ ..came with a proper warning so u should have been aware of what u were getting into.

 

We are thankfully more polite here, however the hard hitting arguments/opinions of some over there are insightful so let’s not entirely bag their way of discussing issues.

I do agree the free speech part, but there are really some posters there who are very irresponsible with what they're posting.

Freedom of speech is a dangerous thing. I seriously think that if someone doesn't agree with what I'm saying, they need to be banned from the forum. Permanently. And have their mouths sewed up.

Well. As someone who cares deeply about humanitarian issues, and is striving to do activist work with the rest of her life, I'm deeply insulted. And hurt.

 

I believe very very strongly in the cause for Africa (and no it's not because of Bono :lol: :rolleyes: , he inspired me however). And to think these shitbag do nothing self... right.

 

I'm becoming them. All they do on the official board is throw insults at each other. There is nothing backing their opinions up but a pile of stinking shit.

 

I don't know why I'm arguing here, I 'spose I could go on there. But I know how people treat "newbies" and I've never posted.

 

There is, however, a point where sarcasm is unnecessary and downright wrong. Honestly, I don't think the plite of the African people, and many Third World countries is a laughing matter. Do we crack jokes about 9/11? No. That's why I respect this board so much. I have seen next to no one on here (indeed, no one) make a useless, shite filled post about something as tender as that. If an issue is raised pertaining to a serious subject, it's always done in a tasteful manner.

Well. I never go there, only if I need to see news and it's not on here yet. Tonight was the first time I went back and waded through the atrocious stupidity in a long time.

 

And oh yeah, it'll be the last.

I got off to a pretty bad start on the official forums, lol. It seems like once I got there, everyone hated me or something, haha.

 

It seemed like I couldn't post even once without getting some snide comment thrown back at me.

 

I love these boards--you can have fun. :) On a lot of other boards, everyone cares about post counts, and if you post a "useless" post (:P), they fume because your post count as been upped by unneeded posts...

 

I for one don't care about post count... I think it's pretty stupid when it restricts you from posting what you want to say... just cuz it's "spam"...
