The BEST covers ever...

Featured Replies

I know that there is the worst covers ever...

Now it is time for the BEST

In my opinion, some of musicians best works are cover songs. Partially because they put so much passion and work inot a cover. Since usually it is a tribute or a favorite song so it is something they love.

some of my favorites are:

-The Smashing Pumpkins - Landslide (Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nick's cover)

-Fiona Apple - Across the Universe (The Beatles cover)

-Nick Drake - Don't Think Twice, It's Alright (Bob Dylan cover)

i was thinking of making this, but couldnt be bothered...

i didnt like fiona apples version that much...

anyways i think these are good:

* Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley

* Mad World - Gary Jules

* Scarborough Fair - Simon + Garfunkel...

* cant remember anymore...

Are you sure coldplay9027? I could've sworn that was an old song!?

Yeah, the aforementioned Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley and Hurt by Johnny Cash are probably my favourites.

Although Coldplay do a good job on 'Ring of Fire,' Chris' voice doesn't quite go that low. :)

Also, Stevie Ray Vaugn played awesome Hendrix covers when he was playing.

that one was good. Gary Jules's version of Mad World it is awesome.

fuck yeah, its really reeeeeeaaaallly reeeeaalllly beautiful and good... the Tears For Fears version was HORRIBLE! :sick:

Muse - feeling good

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Aslan - Angie

Eva Cassidy - Somewhere over the rainbow

Jimi Hendrix - Stairway to heaven

Scissor sisters - comfortably numb

The futureheads - hounds of love

Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

Tool - No Quarter (Led Zeppelin Cover)

Ben Folds - B*tches Aint Sh*t (Dr. Dre cover)

ben folds + rapping = hilarity. :lol:

Oh good many people have found Fiona's 'Across the universe' cover to be awesome!

Feist - Inside and Out (Bee Gees cover) ...can't believe i forgot that one! :) :)

Annie Lennox - "Don't Let it Bring You Down" (Neil Young)

The Sea and Cake - "Sound and Vision" (David Bowie)

Bjork - "Like Someone in Love" (by Johnny Burke, but performed by everybody from Frank Sinatra to John Coltrane)

The Beatles - "Twist and Shout" (The Isley Brothers, I think)

The Rolling Stones - "Love in Vain" (Robert Johnson)

Also, Nirvana did a cover of "Man Who Sold the World" which I think is a David Bowie song, but Nirvana's was so good, I never took the time to find out for sure. :D
