I encourage change, if thats what keeps them going. You can't just keep doing the same thing over and over...change is a good thing. In my opinion at least.

actually i dont really like their new stuff...i prefer parachutes and arobatth songs..i mean x&y is also good but it is too pop-like...i do not recognise any alternative sound...so my opinion is that they must turn backwards..thnaks:)

The first time i read the post on this a looong time ago i missed the "no piano" part of the article. Now that i see no piano i kinda start freaking out.

Well i herd Chris said that he wanted the 4album to be more inspired by country and hip hop :confused: So i guess this is just roomers to, its to many roomers :/

 

And I totally want Coldplay to do the things more like a rush of blood and parachutes(and x&y) And I rely don’t think its boring, but maybe the band want variations in their music. Maybe they think its boring to make the same music over and over.

 

But something we can put our trust to, is that Coldplay is making great music what so ever!

Its just the stupid newspapers in Norway. I think they made it upp.

In the first place, Chris has never said anything about him being inspired by any kind of hip hop. Maybe its just a Norwegian jackas who misunderstood a joke.

im sure the 4th album will be good.. we all know that coldplay has a good taste in music.. and they wont make a horrible album..

I shutter when I hear rumors of Coldplay sans piano on the 4th album. I mean, Coldplay's sound is synonymous with the piano (e.g. Clocks, The Scientist, Trouble, Speed of Sound, etc.).

 

I can understand Coldplay's desire to grow and try something new, but they shouldn't take such a dramatic course of action. Just look at what happened to Radiohead when they tried that.

 

The band needs to realize that they have a very loyal fan base(as evident by this board) and we're use to--and even expect--certain things from Coldplay. Completely overhauling their sound would turn off many fans, including myself. Don't get me wrong, I love the band and will always have a soft spot in my heart for them(their songs really helped me through some tough times), but I don't want to listen to some techno rock or country folk album. If I wanted to do that I'd buy Beck or Keith Urban.

 

Again, I totally understand them wanting to try new things and branching out but they have to remember what got them where they are today...and it wasn't with just guitars.
