Coldplay. Junos. Halifax. *hyperventilates*

I just looked in the paper this morning and found this article on the front of the entertainment section: http://www.herald.ns.ca/Entertainment/479611.html

Coldplay to heat up Juno show

International superstar pop band Coldplay will make its Halifax debut at the 2006 Juno Awards in April.

"Our Canadian fans are extraordinary — we love Canada!" said Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin in a CARAS news release today. The band has had a steady stream of number one singles in this country, and its concerts routinely sell out in minutes.

Wow... I hope I can get tickets, but it looks doubtful. Big acts may never come out to Halifax normally, but it looks like the Junos are finally becoming enough to bring them. *takes deep breath*

I really love Canada too :D

thanks for the info...but unfortunately I can't go... :P

In case anyones interested, I found the official press release: http://www.junoawards.ca/PDF/01242006.pdf off of the official site: http://www.juno-awards.ca/

For all the bellyaching about not having a #1 UK single, here's an interesting snippet:

Right from Coldplay's first single "Yellow" going to #1 at Rock Radio in Canada to their current #1 single "Talk," Canada has embraced this band. With concerts that sell out in a minute to police escorts at radio stations to the enthusiastic live audiences - the band is very well aware of their Canadian fans' devotion.

Shoot!

Ya beat me by 4 mins...

^ Hey... this is probably the first and last time that Coldplay and Halifax (my hometown! Yay!) will appear in the same sentence. No stealing my thunder- I really want to enjoy this. ;)

Camping out in february for tickets... now there's a cold thought...brrr.... but so worth it...

Haha, I just saw this on the ticker on CityPulse and then I went scrambling to see if this was really true on ctv.ca....and it was! :D oooo, you darn lucky ones that get to actually camp out for tickets! I'm too far, I think I should plan a trip over a *few* miles...hmm :idea2: I'd so do it. :smug: (camping out for Coldplay that is!)

What day are these awards? April what?

Oh just go hang yourselves. Makes them sound as if they're some boy band.

But That's cool that they'll be playing at the Junos. I know they like Canada alot. :)
