A)Just seen Kanye West's performance at the Grammys - :stunned: AND OH MY GOD!!! That man just gets better and better everytime I see him perform. Just incredible. I am so hyped right now.

Reasonable Doubt is the best Jay-Z album..... hand down. I am not a big fan of his stuff after that... so basically.. his underground stuff was ace.. and then the 1st album.. after that, crap.

 

 

Kanye on the other hand.... is hella good. I really enjoy his stuff. He make rap fun again.. and his beats are innovative. Well deserved Grammy win too.

Well obviously I disagree about Jay-Z's recent stuff being crap, but I do agree that Reasonable Doubt is his best album by far. ;)

 

I agree, Kanye's beats are incredibly innovative. I sure as hell have never heard a rapper quite like him before. He's SO talented and extremely intellegent, and the music he makes is so powerful, and straight from the heart. He spits about what he truly feels and believes in, and with so much power and enthusiasm, which is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of shit out there right now.

Songs like 'Never Let Me Down' and 'Jesus Walks' will no doubt go down as some of the best rap music ever written.

 

I downloaded an MTV podcast which has a short interview with him. It's a really great interview and gives a good insight into his way of thinking, and also into how he comes up with those incredible beats. Highly recommend giving it a watch, even if you aren't a big fan. :) Hope you like.

Oh my god! Those are so cute! Chris just makes me smile....geez...he's adorable.

 

I am not a Jay-Z fan, but I like some of his songs. Kanye is pretty cool, but he is a little too arrogant sometimes. It's understandable, though.

 

I thought Kanye's performance at the Grammys was awesome. I loved the marching band theme and how he gets so into the music when he's on stage.

And yeah, he is very self confident, which some people may call arrogance, but I dont really mind it when it comes from him, coz he's such a friggin genius. ;)

Ive been hearing alot of Kanye's stuff on the radio and im not one for rap but this guys beats are so catchy!!!!!!! i really love his work. especially fly high, jesus walks and heard em say.....if anyone has those or any other could you please post a download link?

Yeah, I can't think of any other rap star who would wear that, let alone rock it like Kanye did! Gold Digger is such an awesome song.

i already have on my computer Jesus Walks and All Falls Down and it's great to have Heard 'Em Say because i loved this song since i saw the black and white videoclip on mtv (it just as a really cool sound)....i loved This Way, Spaceship and The New Workout Plan though i need to listen them more to have a better opinion(thanks!)....i can't download Never Let Me Down and the interview, send space says they are temporarily unavailable for download but as it says temporarily i'll probably try again tomorrow....thanks a lot one more time!!!

The only thing I like about Jay-Z is that he sang with Paul McCartney the other night at the Grammys. Otherwise, I think he's just another lame rapper who even retired for somer reason. Why? He's so young? If the Rolling Stones can still make records, why can't he? And don't even get me started on Kanye West.

hey Steph great thread :) i've been giving rap and hip hop the shoulder since Tupac's death and Lauryn Hill's not really recording great stuff since " The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill", and haven't really liked the nonesense that's come out recently. But Australian Hip Hop has come along way and some of these little known bands and little know artists have really sparked the fire once more. Then i heard about Kanye West and he has some great beats and lyrics.

 

Now all i got to do is download some of the stuff you've provided and research

about him and his music and you never know i may become a fully fledged fan! :)
