Post-Concert depression

Featured Replies

Well, they say there's a post-partum (dunno on the spelling) depression after a woman has her dhild.

But I was just wondering...does anybody else here suffer from Post-concert depression?

I have been having a really rough time these past two days after the concert, everything just feels like shit. Before, I had the concert to look forward to, now...It's like there's this empty void inside of me.

I mean, the concert was AMAZING, it blew me away and those 1.5 hours have been some of the happiest hours in my life and having a COLDPLAY concert be my first can only be compared to something around the lines of me some day loosing it to Brad Pitt

But now that the concert has passed, I've been in a really crappy mood and I just wish I had a remote control so that I could rewind time and go back to the 31st.

Ha, my parents say the concert did me more harm than good...I'd have to disagree with them on that one.

So...anybody out there who seems to go through a similar stage after a Coldplay concert...or is it just me?

I know the feeling. And it lasts till 2007 until I get to see them again probably :/

all I can say is that I can absolutely second your post. because the same happened to me after the concert back in october and my crappy mood lasted for maybe 3 or 4 weeks...

it was such an awesome day and I guess the main reason for being down the following time was, that I didn't know (and I still don't know) when I might see them again.

I also know other people, who experienced the same, so I'd say it's nothing unusual.

It's one of the most normal things I think...it was the same for me..I went on and on just thinking about the concert..soo elizabeth as you can see you're not alone

lol...yeah

the best part of the night was seeing my best friend (who complained before and said she absolutely hated the idea of having to go see coldplay with me) start crying during ring of fire...she completely denies she ever did at school, but i heard her yell clearly "I love you guys" by the end of it...shes been converted.

I just get down when I think of how long I have to wait before I see them again. But I have decided that since ill probly be 18 by then, ima buy tickets to all 3 show in the Bay Area if they do the whole Sacramento, Oakland and San Jose thing again. It's worth it.

I really hope it goes away soon though.

Well I'm crossing my fingers and hoping they can come back this summer, even if they're going to play for just one date

I understand you! I had had the same thing after their concert in Paris in November. I think I stayed two days without speaking...

I always go into a deep, dark mood for about a week after a concert. Well, usually... I know that after Coldplay I was actually ok for about a month then I realized how REALLY long it would be until I see them again (turns out, it wasn't that long, seeing them in 2 months!!!). But after my last U2 concert in December I probably cried for a few hours straight each day for a week, since I had (and still have) no idea when they'll ever be back. It's kind of pathetic, ah well

How come i'm the only freak who was happy after the conert?

I was literally buzzing like I was on some sort of drug for about 4weeks. My family and friends said they'd never seen my so happy, I was literally bouncing off the walls!

I sorta know what you mean though....even though I was happy, when I was sat on the tube home from the 2nd Earls Court night there was a part of me that was sad it was all over and I had nothing to look forward to anymore....but I was still buzzing!

Even some random dude of the train asked me why I looked so happy, I must have been sat there smiling to myself like a right freak! :wacky:

I alway have the post concert depression. I'm sure I'll do something crazy like fly to see them and pay some ungodly scalper prices....but damnit I can't stand it when they are here in the US and I'm not there. :(

I felt like this after 14th Dec....I felt like my whole life at that time had been building up to seeing them. I was desperate to not catch any colds or illnesses before the concert, gawd that sounds sad, but there was no way Id miss the concert. I said to my mum, Id still go if I was ill....she said yeah but you're not...stop being a hypochondriac...agh I couldnt help it!!!!! I was gonna see COLDPLAY! lol.

After the concert I had the empty feeling...a little bit depressed but very satisfied. :) Part of me was annoyed because I so VERY nearly caught Chris' camera, and I kept going over that in my head...if I hadnt had my camera and mobile in my hand....if Id been more ready...etc... LOL!!!!!!! All I thought about was the concert when I went to bed..and how I coulda caught the camera!!! doh.

I got the train home with my brother and two guys on my train home were kinda drunk...theyd just been to see David Gray and said he was utter shite....so that made me happier. They saw my programme in my hands and asked about CP...I think I told them more than they cared to hear lol. Well I was still hyper from it.

I also kept going on about the concert....kept saying to my mum, I wish Id got tickets for all 3 gigs!! She was like shuuuut up!!!! I still wish I had.

So.... think i went on a bit there....yes I know exactly how you feel. Its when you realise that the next chance of seeing them is a long long time away. :/

I did exactly the same thing with the dude on the train!!! Im so glad im not the only one!!!

He was really cool, and asked all about it...he looked and me and said "wow, you had a really great time didnt you, you're smiling from ear to ear!" I was so embarressed, I went bright red!!!

i smile like a retard on the train ride home and usually one song sticks out and it just plays over and over again in my head and then i start humming it outloud and this is one really LONG run-on sentence. :D

oh so i have that to look forward to it i go

^ Yes indeedy, be prepared to turn into a weird freak who sings/hums to yourself/talks to random strangers on trains about touching Chris's sweaty back :wacky: :freak:

“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”

He jumped off the stage (to run to the back) right near where me&my friend where stood (front row, but to the left hand side-JONNY ZONE *squeel* ) and ran right past us. As he did, myself and my friend reached forward and I touched his back with my right hand :dead: . It was all damp from his sweat. I was speachless for about 5minutes straight. I licked my fingers like a complete freak :freak: and my friend nearly pissed himself laughing.

Thats about it....
