Han var der for å snakke om Coldplays nye singel Speed of Sound og den nye plata som kommer i juni. Men Martin var ifølge avisa The Sun mer interessert i å snakke om a-ha. Særlig albumet «Hunting High and Low» som kom ut i 1985.

 

- Jeg var i Amsterdam her om dagen, og satte på «Hunting High and Low». Jeg husket der og da hvor mye jeg elsket denne plata. Det er bare helt utrolig låtskriving, sa Martin.

 

Og han stoppet ikke med det:

 

- Alle spør oss alltid om hva som har inspirert Coldplay, hvem vi har stjålet fra og hvilken musikk vi hørte på når vi vokste opp. Slike spørsmål minner deg om hva som har påvirket deg. De første bandene jeg elsket var a-ha og James (Manchester-band som startet i 1982, journ.anm).

 

Om Morten Harket sier Martin:

 

- Det var måten Morten Harket brukte å tre forskjellige ting inn på håndleddet. Jeg gjør det sjøl fortsatt. Han er den mest avvæpnende vakre mannen du noen gang kommer til å møte.

He talked about speed of sound("new singel") and the new album.. But Chris Martin just wanted to talk about a-ha. Especially about the album «Hunting High and Low» which came out in 1985.

 

 

-I was in Amsterdam the other day, and i started listening to Hunting High and low. I remember then how much i really loved that album.. Its just incredible songwriting.

 

And he didnt stop there: Everyone ask us: What has inspired Coldplay, who have we stealed the music from? And what did we listen to when we were young. The first band i loved were A-ha and James.

 

About Morten Harket he says:

It was the way Morten used three thing on his hand.. I still do that writing on my hand. He is the most beautiful man you can meet.

I dont think he means beautiful in the looks way so much by that last sentence...well he could but he prob means the things that the A-ha guy does/his personality :lol:
