August 12, 200718 yr aahhhh, i'm seeing them again in september, the week after i see rilo kiley! and neko's going to be with them! i really couldn't be more excited.
May 10, 201016 yr Arrggh, I be plundering topics from the deep, mateys! :pirate: The latest album - Together - has been released. After Challengers went for a less 'pop' route than its predecessors, this new album is again pretty poppy and upbeat. I wouldn't say it's as good as Electric Version or Twin Cinema, but it's definitely worth a listen. Surely there's some other New Pornos fans here in the three years since this thread last saw activity...
May 11, 201016 yr ^Michael, I've never actually heard a lot of their stuff, but I LOVE Neko Case. What do you recommend I start with?
May 11, 201016 yr I like Together, it's better than Challengers but certainly no Twin Cinema. Twin Cinema is a great place to start. :nice:
May 11, 201016 yr I definitely second the suggestion of Twin Cinema. In my opinion, it's not only their best album (heck, "The Bleeding Heart Show" is probably one of my top 5 favorite songs by anyone; makes me cry manly tears :P), but it's most representative of the rest of their career. From there, any other album is a fine second step. Yes, Neko Case is awesome. Though she actually doesn't get much of a role on the new album aside from a few tracks (including the lead single - "Crash Years").

June 28, 201015 yr Okay, after sleeping on it for months, I finally said "Screw it" and got tickets for the New Pornos show in L.A. next month. They're playing a very small venue, so that should be nice. I think I've finally decided that "My Shepherd" is my favorite track on the new album. Really pretty.
