What If was going to be the single if it wasn't THP

OMG i wanted What If sooooooooo bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :/ :(

I love Swallowed In The Sea (my fav track off X&Y), would've loved to have it as the next single. After hearing everyone sing along with it at The Forum.

 

THP is alright, not my favoite, but I'll grow to love it.

 

Wonder if the video will be concept driven or just the band playing...

It was in the Q&A section on Coldplay.com. At first Debs wrote that she didn't know if she should say, and then she wrote again and said that What If was originally planned to be the 4th single. But she didn't go into why it was changed to Hardest Part. But for some reason it sounded like a last minute change to me.

Debs also said in the Q&A on Coldplay.com that the video for Hardest Part has already been planned and that it is different from any others Coldplay has done before.......

I actually LIKE The Hardest Part... more so since it's been influenced by porn... :P

I prefer The Hardest Part to What If, so yeah good choice imo :D

I love The Hardest Part, but the single should have been either A Message, X&Y, White Shadows, or Swallowed In The Sea.

Square One too....

 

Pretty much the whole album could be released as singles.

White Shadows ultimately should have been the 4th single...but between What If and The Hardest Part, What If should have won. I love that song alot, it's single worthy, video would have been cool, and fans like it ALOT more than THP...and also, doesn't the band. I always thought the band loved it.

 

 

I just don't understand them sometimes...

Whaaat. I thought they didn't even like this song. Man! I wanted Swallowed in the Sea!

^ Isn't it hysterical how a vast majority of their fans want either Swallowed In The Sea, White Shadows, Low, Square One, What If, or A Message to be the 4th single, and the one song that the LEAST amount of fans want (THP) actually IS the single!

 

I can't say it enough: I'm CONFUSED by this!
