Well, it's not too bad after all.

I'm happy... :)

One of the worst decisions

ever made by a band,

When I heard the album leak last year, this song was the most mediocre of the bunch. I hope to god is an April Fool's joke since the single is supposed to be released in April

It's a decent song but strictly an album song, this is not going to attract more people. In keeping with way they have been releasing singles in an X and Y fashion (fast, slow, fast, then slow) I don't mean necessarily slow but you know what I mean, the options were definitely: SITS (which should be the next single, A Message, or What If. Not the Hardest Part.

Please, Coldplay if you're reading these boards, reconsider, SITS needs to be heard by the masses, it's an absolute brilliant song and will increase album sales for sure.

Again, very dissapointed if this is true. hopefully they will release six singles (White Shadows, and then SITS),

A dark day in Coldplay history for sure

It's not my fav song but hey, this is not the end of the fooking world

A dark day in Coldplay history for sure

Alright dramatic!!!!

Im not happy about the choice to say the least, and I really do think it's a very weird decision on their part....but like Lilla said, its not the end of the world!!!

ahhhhhhhh i cant belive it !! :stunned:

The b-sides better be REALLY good! Like REALLY REALLY good.

It'd be fine to release THP if they'd AA-side it with something good. That's the perfect way to get 5 songs released from the album! I think fans would be happy, too...right?

Dave

the b-sides better out do the a-side

and dont rule out them doing 5 singles this album

qwertyuiop, your siggy

well i would say that all the album is great so..... :idea2: .... THEY CAN MAKE 13 SINGLES.........YEAH!!!!!' date=' 13 VIDEOS :P[/quote']

haha nice idea :P

this sucks... hardest part is one of the least nicest songs in he album... It's not the worse but they could've gone so much better. "A Message" would've been great as a single

I don't know about anyone else, but I seem to like this song a little bit more now that it's gonna be a single... I don't think it was the best choice, but I think it will do well with the public.

In the Q&A section on the Coldplay website today, Debs said that What If was almost the one released as the fourth single....... Wonder what made them change their mind?

:stunned: I wonder what made them change their minds too... mmm

Hey i personally like the song!Dont know if single material either but who cares! Its funny and a little annoying how people are putting down the Hardest Part but thats their opinions.Hey i bet The Hardest Part will have the best video and best b-sides out of all the singles from X&Y LOL.Wouldnt that be something??

what did i say...that was my theory that i mentioned last week..that was will's wish and they planed what if from the right start..OMG I CAN?T BELIVE I GOT I RIGHT (i got the debs mystery sentence from few weeks ago) :embarrased:

I have this strange feeling that we'll get nothing good for b-sides...look at the 4th single b-sides of the past...nothing really all that exciting! I want 2 CDs and a 7" all with different b-sides on them! And the video better be AWESOME!

Dave

I dont think THP is their strongest song...its actually probably one of their weakest, but I do kind of like the music in it...I wouldnt put good money on it doing as well as past singles...but there must be a reason why they chose to release this one out of all of the album?

I think that Coldplay are trying to release songs that represent every genre on the album, which makes sense

Speed Of Sound = piano-driven...that Coldplay sound

Fix You = ballad

Talk = rock

The Hardest Part = pop (?)

Tracks like White Shadows, Low, Swallowed In The Sea, and What If? have already been covered.

I think that's the way they're doing things with the singles...which is not really the best thing to do IMO because sometimes that means leaving good songs on the album! I just hope they'll do a 5th single...which they probably won't. But the album is still doing well! They wouldn't even have to promote it...just make it a single for the fans.

X&Y has to be the album with the most single worthy tracks ever...and yet they release the one that is LEAST single worthy of them all! (IMO) lol.
