You believe there's a God omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent? well think about this!

 

Is really God powerful enough to make the heaviest stone that not even he can get up?

 

I mean if he can he couldn't get it up and if he could he actually wouldn't really be able to create that stone. :huh: So there's a natural incongruence for the idea of a God that can do anything. Any thoughts?

Its just something we've all talked about a million times over. And its got an interesting title and then you open it up to realise its a basic "Ya believe in God?!" topic.

By the way I wouldnt base my entire religious thesis on that silly little rock quote.

 

I dont believe in God, but if I did:

 

1: God didnt 'create' everything by snapping his fingers, he created the biologies and science of the world which built up and developed. The bible says it took only 7 days or something like that, but from what I've been told its just an example number as at this time days werent measured this convienantly (Uhhh the start of the universe).

 

2: Its a ridiculous quote! God doesnt spent his days weightlifting man, hes not a physical force.

The time relativity is just an excuse christian types say to try to hold onto their bible teachings (because they can't stand up to science without a little 'interpretation').

I don't think it's impossible to answer. Obviously weight can never be a limitation to an omnipotent being so even if the omnipotent being makes a rock that weighs an infinite amount of pounds it could still move the rock. And since an infinite amount of weight is the heaviest weight possible then it could not make something it couldn't move.

This question only relies on if you believe in God or not. If you do, then you'll believe that he's omnipotent and you wont bother yourself with a question like that. Questions like this only bother people who do not believe in God and are trying to give an excuse for it. At least, thats what I think.

I think a better question is how is it possible that God would exist? I also believe in God, but I don't have an answer for that. I believe in time and space with surety, but do time and space also only exist because God exists?

Sorry if I offended anyone, this wasn't to prove God doesn't exist or anything, I was just trying to show how far can be God from logical-natural world. Same when you study science and you understand how matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed, so basically the universe is the principle and the end of everything, Nature world shows it wasn't created.

 

Anyway since theres nothing that contradicts it (or proves it) everyone is free to believe in sobrenatural things, they just cannot be explained.
