ok, i heard somewhere that on the next cd release, there is going to be limited to no piano playing. is this true??? i sure hope not. i dont know how they can make a cd w/o chris and his piano playing. it doesnt make any sense. has anyone heard this crazy rumor too?? :shocked2:

but I think they just said they wanted to take more rock approach, which would mean less piano. But the boys are so brilliant, so I am sure that they will make something so great with piano but still sound 'harder'

i heard the album is gonna sound alot like The World Turned Upside Down & Things I Don't Understand. Two pretty good songs IMO.

I love those songs!

 

I think I could love the next album with a whole new passion. It would help me appreciate the masterpieces of the past albums.

I realllllllly want them to use piano!! AROBTTH is one of the best albums of all time, and I strongly believe their brilliant use of pianos is a big reason behind its success and beauty. Im sure whatever sort of album they put out will be good, but I think it would be all the more amazing if they went back to the roots of AROBTTH, specifically clocks, the scientist, and amsterdam.

clocks, amsterdam, speed of sound, trouble, what if... where will these songs be ?? what will coldplay become ?? find out after these messages .. lol ( we will have to wait for a loooong time)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Chris was asked this in an interview and he said something about not being able to stay away from a piano for long, but also that they want to take the fourth album in a different direction, so on and on. I'm sure it'll have plenty of piano!

The top 20 countdown guy on VH1 (reliable source...no but still :lol:) said they have it all recorded and they're just waiting for this new studio to be built. That seems like a dumb reason to wait if that's true.

Take it this way: don't believe anything until the album comes out. Art and artists themselves are fickle and Chris especially so. The next album may not have any piano, or it may have more than Rush of Blood. Who knows? But something tells me that you couldn't keep Chris away from his piano if you put 3-inch nails on the keys and rigged it with a bomb or something. :laugh3:

yes, indeed i did get to meet him. :D he was such a gentleman...so was the rest of the band. my friends and i waited outside in 20 deg weather till 1:30am to meet them. but we did! and shook hands and got autographs. let me know if you want the whole story. its kinda funny.

i totally agree with all of you here. chris cant bare to stay away from the piano for like 2 seconds...how can he do it for an entire album?? he is brilliant on the piano and i love alllllll of the songs because of that and the guitar.

ok, here is the whole story.

 

so! my friends and i saw ppl standing outside by the back main entrace for all the bands to go in and out of. we asked why they were standing there and they said that at another show coldplay came out to do autographs and mini meet and greets. so, my friends and i stood out there in 20 deg (farhenhight) weather for an hour 1/2. well, my friends mom made us leave cuz it was like 1:30 am and we had school. so we went back to the parking garage and got the car. we came out, went around the corner and no sooner did we do that and COLDPLAY WAS STANDING RIGHT WHERE WE WERE!!!!!

 

we busted out of the car and ran like none other! i have never run so fast across 6 lanes of street in the middle of downtown milwaukee ever! it was so worth it tho. they signed our posters and shook hands w/us to. they kept saying to everyone how bad the felt cuz we were all so cold when they shook our hands. what gents huh? oh, i totally melted when i heard their hott british accents too.

i cant wait till the next album... i agree though that AROBTTH was so good becouse of good use of piano and electirc guitar... i hope that the album is more like AROBTTH... well have to wait and see.... whatever they come up with will be good!
