Current Live Set List = RIP OFF!

Featured Replies

Does anyone else agree that the current set list is too short? They have been playing X&Y and HYSTW together for weeks, and now instead they play only one song, What If... I attended the show at the Tweeter Center(NJ) this summer and was shocked at how short the show was... now the one in Philly coming up will be even shorter!!!!

April 3rd Set List:

Square One

Politik

Yellow

Speed of Sound

God Put a Smile on Your Face

What If

Don't Panic

White Shadows

The Scientist

Till Kingdom Come

Ring of Fire

Trouble

Clocks

Talk

Swallowed In The Sea

In My Place

Fix You

it's sad to see that  MAybe they need a break ? :\

Fortunatelly, they played a very good setlist in Paris ;)

what are you whinging about? thats 17 songs, and they play that much normally.

Be glad you can see coldplay more than one time in USA.. They have done 2 tour there this year! I would be glad if they come to norway one more time, even if they played 14 songs !!!

true. i think the rest of the europe would agree with you Leeds.

I see your points, but it is a bummer that they're shortening the setlist at the very end of this tour. I personally was very much looking forward to How You See The World in Philly, and now it looks like they probably won't perform it. Sorry if we're being babies, but sometimes things just suck.

I've gotten to see them 3 times over the past year in Toronto, and each time they've been better. So you have that to look forward to. Plus their setlists are much longer compared to AROBTTH Tour days. The only thing that I'd like to see is them change it up a bit more. They seem to have settled into a "winnning" formula. I'd like a return to the unexpected in Coldplay!

If they play the same setlist, people whine. If they change the setlist, people whine. They just can't win can they. :dozey:

Maybe the reason they aren't playing HYSTW is because of so-so crowd reaction. Both times when I saw them in Washington DC and Cleveland in March, people were sitting down and didn't seem to know the song. This is just a guess. Or maybe they just got tired of playing it.

what are you whinging about? thats 17 songs' date=' and they play that much normally.[/quote']

exactly, they've been playing 17 songs for ages (the whole tour I guess) so what's wrong with that?! the arobtth set wasn't longer either, was it? be glad you have the possibility to see them anyway. many people haven't...

So you got one less song and you're getting ripped off? Geez... that set is right amount for someone in their 3rd album. We'll probably see more for the 4th album tour.

surprised by the reaction!!... 17 songs? barely... ring of fire is short as hell and it's not even an original(althought I do enjoy it) plus us hardcore fans have already seen songs like Yellow and In My Place so many times it makes us gag... would be great to see A Message, Low, Hardest Part back into the set list for the finale

Since when is the tour just for die hard fans.. there's loads of new fans that want to see Yellow and In My Place, and want to see all the old stuff they have missed out on. The length is fine for a band in their 3rd album. How long does U2 play for? 2 hours or so? And they have like what.. 10/11 studio albums? A band with only 3 albums playing for an hour and a half (give or take) is fine.

I am so sick of people complaining about the length of the set. I agree with Vic. Don't bash their set when it's completly reasonable fora band their age.

I think Coldplay's enormous popularity skews the fact that they are still are a relatively young band that still has a way to go to establish themselves with rock kings like U2, Rolling Stones, ect.

And if you're complaining about the set length/price ratio, it's pretty damn good considering you're seeing one of the biggest bands in the world with amazingly complex effects and in a huge space like an arena. That one show probably costs upwards of $700,000. Just be thankful that they're not charging over a hundred dollars for floor seats.

yes they are more songs in this tour than during AROBTTH's tour but with this setlist where Ring of Fire lasts 2:00 and Trouble 2:30 and without HYSTW, it's nearly equivalent...

Well, sorry, but I have to agree that if they were going to drop a song, then Ring of Fire would have been the one to drop since it's just a cover and not their song and the Johnny Cash thing is wearing a little thin. They've had 18 songs on the setlist for most of this winter USA tour, by the way. They just recently changed X&Y to What If and dropped How You See The World. But, yes, in the end, I am just soooooo excited to see them in Philly. So, really, I'm not complaining too loudly--in fact barely at all really. They could sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and I'd be thrilled. But I have loved both versions of HYSTW from the first time I heard them, so I really was looking forward to hearing it and I'm disappointed that I probably won't (guess I can keep my fingers crossed). But, somehow I think I'll live!! (And just fyi, I think U2 played for about 2 and a half hours when I saw them in Dec. The biggest difference being that they played two encores, not one.) I'm happy though with 17-18 songs from Coldplay (though who wouldn't want to hear more), and I certainly want Chris to take care of his voice too and not overdo it.

agree with the "In My Place" and "Yellow"

forget new fans, I'm selfish, would it kill them to throw me SHIVER, that's ALL I ASK...lol....

Last night was the same set list as Mansfield in August, except for everythings not lost and another I think.... and it was great and all.... but like ap said.... I've had enough of "In My Place" since January 2003....

They spoiled the first leg of the tour... so I couldn't help but be somewhat disappointed after last night...

I totally agree with Lance, we were so spoiled in Mansfield last August. Now even thought they were amazing....I walked away a little dissapointed. They have 3 albums! So why such a short time on stage. As much as I get how important J.Cash is and was, I'm there for Coldplay not J.Cash songs. I would have much rather heard THP or SHIVER!! then Ring of Fire

i dont care if they played 10 songs, i would go see them again! feel lucky man, you probably saw the raleigh show right? you have to admit that was an AMAZING show, one of the best ive ever seen of ANY band. and 17 songs isnt that short of a list, and its not like they played songs that nobody likes, they are all great songs!

Raleigh was an amazing show. Definitely my favorite concert ever.
