iPod shuffle not updating successfully!

Featured Replies

So my cousin got this shuffle.. when we plug it in to his pc.. sometimes it doesn't recognize the iPod.. at others, it asks for an update. So, I d/l the lastest update.. it reads the iPod, then when I click to update the songs I have chosen to add.. it gives me this error message in a pop up window marked "Memory Card Manager"--

Failed to locate supported file types or there are no photos found on this device.

I should add that he also owns a Nano.. to which I think this message is intended for.. but how can we update the shuffle with out this occuring or am I shit out of luck here??

help!

Well from my experience it sounds like you're shit out of luck here, but if the computer still recognizes the shuffle then run iPod Restore and restore it to factory condition and try it again.

But if your cousin dropped it like an idiot then it's most likely screwed.

i also have troubles with the recognizing. :(

but sometimes it works but i have to wait some minutes, its a bit annoying with the shuffle

I later found out the the green light never shuts off... its fucked. I told him to tell his friend to just get a new one lol (its his friends shuffle.. he was just trying to help him out)

but thank you guys! As always.. most helpful!

My shuffle is screwed up too. :( My comp no longer recognizes it, and the orange and green lights flash. NOT a good sign. I think it's time to kiss my ipod shuffle goodbye. :bigcry: Anyone else have this problem? No hope?

^ it was doing that as well.. when it flashes like that.. it says its reading it as data.. but yeah, its fooked. Just get a regular one.. its worth it,

Damn, that was what I was afraid of. :( Poor little iPod. Guess it's time to start saving up for the 60 Gig...

If it's still under guarentee then take it back and pay that little bit extra to get a Nano. It's worth it, the 1GB model is only about $129 I think and is way more reliable. :D

I had an ipod mini which was rubbish! So that's what I did, took it back and paid extra for a nano.

Sadly I do believe the guarentee has expired. :( I got my shuffle when they first came out on the market. The nano is cute and compact, but I'd like the 60gb model so I can take my videos and photos everywhere. :P Thanks for your advice tho! :)

Yeah if the light doesnt turn off or anything it's fucked.

my parents have shuffles and they haven't had much problems with it, but they don't use them very often, so i don't think the usual 'wear and tear' of the product has set in yet.

Memory Card Manager

I found the exact same message from the Memory Card Manager, except for my situation was a bit different. I connected my very new iPod Video to my computer to sync it with iTunes. Because of this message, I can't update my iPod at all. If anyone has any answers, please reply. Also, does anyone know if it's possible to have an iPod working correctly with two different iTunes accounts?

Also' date=' does anyone know if it's possible to have an iPod working correctly with two different iTunes accounts?[/quote']

I don't know if this answers your question, but my sister and I both have our own iPods, and our own iTunes accounts, and we share some songs that we buy on iTunes with each other, so I do believe an iPod can hold songs from more than one account. :)

I found something about the memory card manager to disable the automatic search for photo cards.

1) open the memory card manager program which is listed as a program under the printer name(start, programs, printer,...)

2) The default option appears to be load the program at startup. Unclick this option so the program won't load at startup.

3) Reboot your computer to make this take effect.

This helped my bro-in-law, hope you can find it useful too!
