Good

How is Sal today (and has Sal voted in the battle of the smilies yet?)?

I'm fine. I was a bit ill last week but I'm feeling much better now.

And no, I haven't voted yet. Will do in a minute!

Long time no see Crests

oui, I was off to the land of relatives.

I've voted now. :nice:

Do they live far away? I haven't seen my relatives in ages.

7 hours maybe, hello Sally :nice:

That's quite far away.

My family lives in a different country. Me and my boyfriend might go there for a couple of days next month if we can get time off work.

yeah, long car ride.

what country do they live in?

that sounds fun

Switzerland

We gotta get a flight obviously. It usually takes like 90 from Liverpool but the last time I flew from Newcastle and it took almost two hours.

I could never get on a plane, which is bad because I qant to go to Paris more than anything

I'm afraid of flying too but what can you do?

If you do go, take pills that make you feel calmer. It really helps.

I'll remember that

have you flown before?

Yeah loads of times. I've never been on a long-distance flight though.

I take those pills I mentioned and I usually buy a book/ a couple of magazines. I still get really nervous though.

I find it much easier if I'm with someone. Talking to someone really helps as long as they stay calm.

I tthink the part that would scare me the most is taking off and landing, but I am terrified of heights. I am a huge wimp

then it's good you're going with someone

Yeah I guess that's the same for everyone.

Indeed! My boyfriend doesn't mind flying at all, I think he's more nervous about meeting my parents.

whats it like flying?

do you think your parents will like him?

Well you can get quite a bet off turbulence during the take off/ landing otherwise it's not too bad. Like you feel less than when you're on a train. It's more a psychological thing really. I can't calm down until the plane has actually landed. :embarassed:

I hope so. I think my mum will, not sure about my dad. We're just really different.

It's kinda weird because I've met his parents so many times. They're lovely.

I hope I can get over my fear one day to go to Paris, and that I can go to paris

it's great when you like the parents.

I was just wondering this- Is it more important that you like the parents or the parents like you?

We wanted to go to Paris this summer but it hasn't worked out somehow. I guess we'll go sometime this year though. Can't wait!

Maybe you'd better off getting on a domestic flight first. I really wanna go to New York some day but I'd be so scared if was flying there tomorrow.

Both really. I think you can usually tell when someone doesn't like you even if they are polite. I guess this work in both ways...

I wonder why I want to go there so much :wacky:

I actually never want to go to New York, doesn't look fun to me somehow,

yeah, I hate when you can tell :\

How come? New York looks awesome from what i've seen on TV/ in films. One of my friends went there and she absolutely loved it. It must be amazing to go shopping there!

It can be really awkward when you realise you're not welcome at someone's house. People can be polite as long as they want, you can usually tell.

I don't know really, it jus doesn't appeal to me.

te shopping would be great though :wacky:

that's happened to me, not fun :\

it even happened yesterday :disappointed:
