Impact of MySpace on Search and Why They Don't Need To Build Their Own Search Engine

...

Also, MySpace gives a list of the most popular searches performed on the MySpace site:

Most Popular Searches

1. HTML

2. Videos

3. My Chemical Romance

4. Downloads

5. Coldplay

6. Ringtones

7. Dates

8. Music

9. Photos

10. Friends

Not really high quality stuff, and although one can argue that web searches (not site searches) might be higher quality, I think this is a decent proxy for quality and also supports the lower quality of traffic argument that we hear often associated with social networking sites.

:shocked2:

I saw that list, I really don't get it, I mean its gotta be the most random list ever.

that list has been there forever though! Surely it must have changed! lol

It can't be the same searches every week! lol

That is so weird. Coldplay? I know they're popular but why the hell would they be one of the most searched things on My Space?

And yeah... most. random. list. ever.

I just don't think it's been updated since X&Y came out...:laugh4:
