The Da Vinci Code - whos seen it already?

Featured Replies

I went to the movies yesterday to watch it!! it was PACKED!! i had to wait 1h in line just to get IN the theater...

All the critics here were bashing the movie, and as i read the book, i wasnt expecting it to be very good, coz the book is always way better than the movie. And after reading so many bad reviews, i went just to check it out, more out of curiosity, but wasnt expecting much!!

But i did have a nice surprise: The movie is actually good!! I dont know if it was because i was expecting it not to be, but i really liked it. Yes its long, yes its detailed and yes, sometimes its kinda slow, but for me, who read the book, and even knew how it was gonna end it was pretty exciting!! The locations are beautiful and if u havent seen the real places before, its good so u can get a good picture of what you read about.

I went with a friend, he didnt read the book... and he hated the movie!! :stunned:

and that was pretty much the feeling at the end of the movie... lots of couples (sunday night :P), and in most of them, one read the book, the other not. The ones who read, were happy about the movie, the ones who didnt, didnt like it all... ("boring" being the most common word used)

So, have u watched it yet? what did u think??

I hadn't read the book either and just saw all the bad reviews but my friend talked me into going anyway and I went in thinking I wouldn't understand anything and that it was gonna be utter crap, but I loved it! It was so beautifully done and the perfect length and the details made it really easy to understand. And Tom Hanks was brilliant as always! :nice:

I saw it friday. I hadnt read the book, so I didnt have anything to complain about. I thought it was great.

But the one i love most is Paul Bettany... i love all his movies...

He IS amazing!!!

His eyes in the movie.. totally blew me away :stunned:

the book is better than the movie

oh i thought the movie was okay.. i read the book a looooong time ago and actually i dont remember the most if it. it's not that unforgetable. for me the movie was way too dramatic, and maybe pointless? all the running from louvre to temple church was just to show sophie's family? i like it, but it was just okay.

andiminlovewithpaulbettanyomg.

not seen in yet. will probably wait until all the hype has died down and watch it in a quiet cinema

saw it last weekend.. I think it was ok enough, it's been ages since I read the book so I didn't have to worry about thinking "ok now they have missed that part and that part and.." etc. I actually wasn't that impressed about Tom Hanks in the movie, but I guess he was OK too considering the way I felt when hearing he was going to play the main character, I remember thinking he really wasn't the right choice for the part

and Paul Bettany was great of course:)

Da Vinci Code wasn't the amazing epic everyone was expecting, but it's definitely worth the money to go see.

Paul Bettany as Silas = My $8.

It's a great film in general. I find it hard to understand why so many critics out there panning it. Tom Hanks' okay, and Paul Bettany has left me the deepest impression---- he outshines the other actors in the film.

it scared the hell out of me... but... but... he IS Paul Bettany... yummeh...

and i have to mention this considering all the girls love(d) him...

WAS THAT HIS REAL BUTT? OMG!!:stunned::stunned::stunned::stunned::stunned::stunned:

:laugh4:

Honestly, I was a bit bored with it.

The only parts that were thrilling for me involved Silas. And I think they cast overly good looking actor for the part.

Slow paced. And most of the parts that are so exciting in the book are that way because you have to figure them out along with the character in the lines of the text. But in the movie it was just hand fed to the viewer. Here's the clues, 3 seconds later, ok yes here's the answer. But I still liked it. Just a bit let down.

The cinematography was perfect just some of the acting was a bit off.

The ones who read, were happy about the movie, the ones who didnt, didnt like it all... ("boring" being the most common word used)

that is the complete opposite here. i went with 3 friends of mine and two of them who read the book, had high expectations for the movie and were disappointed. On the other hand, me and my other friend did not read the book and we were simply there to have a good time and watch an interesting movie. it ended up that i really really like this movie and i am def going to read The Da Vinci Code this summer since i have Angels and Demons already.

That's not his butts first role, I have seen it before. It's real. :wink3:

I went with my sister to see the movie. Me being the one who had red the book, her being the one who is a tom hanks fan and never red the book. She said that it helps to have red the book because you don't have to concentrate on the movie so much as she found it quite difficult to understand, where as I knew exactly what was coming up!

It wasn't as good as I had expected it to be, but it wasn't as bad as all the critics were making it out to be either. I can take or leave tom hanks as an actor, but I found him very good, and I loved Paul Bettany! But I love him anyway!

Yeah, i saw the movie tonight and i think it's quit good! I liked it a lot, but i haven't read the book yet..I know i should though!

The beginning of the movie was very very good and i got into it really fast. And the end of the movie was really impressive.

I'm so glad i watched the film even though all the criticism. I don't understand at all why critics are saying the Da Vinci Code is a bad movie

oh please tell me some other butt roles he has played!!
