Ringtones

Can anyone help me with how to make a ringtone?

I have that program Audacity, but am unsure about what to do with the clip once I have made it. How can I send it to my phone? or do I need one of those cords to download it straight to it? I am so behind in tech especially with my phone!

Thanks I figured it out!

What phone do you have? I know with mine, I use a USB cord to plug from the phone to the computer and I can transfer anything that way. Not all phones bring a USB port so see if your does.

I think it's the Sanyo VI-2300.

Pretty basic phone from Sprint. :dozey:

Hmm.. I looked into it a bit and it doesn't have a USB port. Another way would be if it were Bluetooth compatible but I didn't see anything saying it was?..

Does it record? My friend's phone doesn't have a ton of features but it does record, so she just plays whatever it is she wants as a ringtone and records it with the phone. If it doesn't record, I don't see how it would be possible without purchasing the ringtones..

I think it does record! Hmm I will have to play around with it a bit.

Is there a way I can send it in like a text message? Thanks for all your help so far!

can it recieve MMS texts (pictures, videos, audio files)?

If so, you may be able to send a ringtone over via MMS.

Dave,on the Sprint website it says:

SMS Text Messaging Enabled

Is that the same thing? Thanks! And now how would I send it to my phone?

What service plan are you on? I ask because I know that thru the verizon wireless website you can send TXTs with attached media (including audio files) to yourself (to your cell). Check your providers website....they might have something similar. Then when you receive the text (abbreviated as TXT or SMS), just save the media to your phone and set it as your ringer! It's worked for me in the past...

I have Sprint PCS. I know my plan includes text. Hmmm Ok I checked the Sprint website and you can send a text from there but not with attached files..... I'm looking on google now for something else. Thank you, this is getting me headed in the right direction!
