Zidane wins the Golden Ball

Featured Replies

This is just ridicuolus...they kept talking about fair play and all of this

they should just be ashamed of themselves..FFS how can you give it to a man who acted like this yesterday..a real good example for everyone..Blatter are you happy now :veryangry:

The only match Zidane played like a god was the one against Brasil , all the other matches was almost along the average.

This prize belongs to Fabio Cannavaro and no one can prove I'm wrong. He played every match just perfectly...why defenser are never taken into account

oh well sorry Blatter and Platini, we still have the World Cup, you have a stupid champion who's going home like a loser for me

I do not think he deserves it, just for the idiotic thing he did in the Final....

What exactly did he say in the final? Maybe the other guy provoked him.

Maybe it's a prize for his fair play :idea2:

he didn't say anything he just headbutted the Italian player and please stop tryin to defend him cause there is nothing in the world someone can say to you to act like that

I dunno...bit sounds a it dodgey. He was always one of the nicest guys in the game so I doubt he would do something like that so uncalled for. Plus the Italian side is a bit...well "un-trustworthy"

i don't know if he said anything, but last time zidane headbutted someone was because they said something racist to him... i'm just trying to put it into perspective. i don't know if anything happened, but i don't see why zidane would heabutt someone for no reason in his last ever match, in the grand final, in the second half of extra time.

in no way am i trying to defend him, i'm just trying to put it into perspective. everytime he has done something like this, he has had a reason for doing so. he is beyond doubt, one of the world's finest players - ever. it's his final game. grand final. why would he leave on such a low point for no reason? there's no reason i can give...

There is no excuse for headbutting someone.

a racist comment is.

as in what happened last time zidane headbutted someone.

i don't know what happened this time, so i can't comment on last nights, because we don't know if he was provoked or not.

I dont think anyone will ever know except him and the other guy. I will always like Zidane though so I will try to defend him as much as possible. In my opinion he is a legend!

He is a god for me too.....but he spotted his fantastic carreer with this bad ending..........

In any match any player is provoked because is part of the match, if you're not able to control yourself then go and play boxe.

This is the thread to comment if it was right or not the prize he won

Even if it was racist, this is Zidane we're talking about; a player the footballing continues to praise for his fair play. I could've understood if it was some young, inexpeirenced player, but not Zidane.

it depends how he was provoked though... if something was said to cause extreme offense, then i see his actions as warranted.

anyway, i think his prize was the correct decision.

there were no stand out players this tournament, compared to previous world cups. zidane is the only one i can think of who comes close to getting it.

although it may seem he doesn't deserve it because he wasn't completely outstanding, relatively speaking, compared to everyone else, i think he is the one who did deserve it.

Even if it was racist' date=' this is Zidane we're talking about; a player the footballing continues to praise for his fair play. I could've understood if it was som young, inexpeirenced player, but not Zidane.[/quote']

meh... he's done it before.

apparently he called him a terrorist

if he did, then zidane's actions for me are completely justified.

I'm surprised about him winning, too..

But his whole career and the whole game in general shouldn't be destroyed just because of this one incident..

if he did' date=' then zidane's actions for me are completely justified.[/quote']

I agree, but he should have done it AFTER the game.. Not messing up the whole situation..

i agree, but when someone says something offensive, most people act immediately, on impulse. only after it's done do most people think "... i should have controlled myself"

it's easy to criticise them now...

Yeah of course, I totally agree with you in that point. He was in a stressed, busy situation and lost control.. That's just human, but still stupid! Although I agree that you obviously don't think of "What happens if I do that now.. Will my team lose.. Will my career end like that.." in this second! You just act - and he acted the wrong way.

flying sparks; yeah it's a shame it had to end like that... i feel bad that his career has to end like this...

mo: i think it was awarded to zidane, more or less to reward him on his amazing career... he's been france's stand out player, helped bring them to the wc finals, is retiring now, and has had a phenomenal career. i see why they gave him the golden ball.

^ Yeah, I agree with you in that point. It could also be a sign of "He made a mistake, but still had a brilliant career, and that's what we should honour him for!"..

if he did' date=' then zidane's actions for me are completely justified.[/quote']

Terrorist....I've read on Materazzi's lips "Vaffanculo"( Fuck you)

Anyway....the reaction is not justified and the prize is absolutely undeserved

CANNAVARO HAD TO WIN IT!!

^ Yeah' date=' I agree with you in that point. It could also be a sign of "He made a mistake, but still had a brilliant career, and that's what we should honour him for!"..[/quote']

exactly!
