For this poll ingore the personalities of the band members, just focus your judgement on their musical material. Which of those 3 band in your own view are the best.

if we'll be honest there's no contest in this one.

 

Radiohead have done 6 albums and at least 3 of them are part of the music history.

Muse and Coldplay haven't brought anything of this yet, though they still have potential. but comparing these bands at this stage is ridiculous. you can compare Coldplay to Muse, but comparing Muse or Coldplay to Radiohead is just too LOL.

 

Coldplay or Muse shouldn't even get any votes if we take that you said "judgement on their musical material"

Radiohead- for the shear innovation, period.

It's all personal opinions though mannnnnn

 

I mean anyone can look at the amount of material produced and the popularity and praise it's recieved from the media and such, but in the end it all just boils down to personal opinion and if anyone should be bashed about liking something, make it about politics or something because music is purely for pleasure and not well being

 

So in conclusion, I want to see absolutely no people bashing in this thread

thank you! that's exactly what i was thinking but didn't know how to put it into words.

Radiohead are already legends, though they have released only 6 albums and they already were "the most important band of the 90s" after their 3rd. but the most important part is: they could progress and bring something new into their music with the years...

well, Coldplay...they have 3 albums and even if they sound differently from each other, i still can hear many similaritites. they did a little progress from Parachutes to AROBTTH (A Rush Of Blood was better in many ways than Parachutes, more professional work), but X&Y comapred to their first 2 releases is dreadful...

 

if i wouldn't be a Coldplay fan i would probably say that X&Y is just a poor collection of ringtones (Speed Of Sound, The Hardest Part), some simple as the ABC guitar riffs (Talk, White Shadows) and some boring ballads with meaningless lyrics (Swallowed In The Sea, Fix You)

 

i'm a Coldplay fan lol, so i don't say it, but i still find some true in that sentence

 

i'm not a Muse fan, but as far as i can tell they are being very overrated on this board i don't think they are more than an average band, but however...lol

the biggest difference between these bands that Radiohead always could change something in their music repertoire. they could go another way after The Bends and write some guitar based songs, but it would be boring and i don't think they would have such a big and devoted fanbase as they do now

 

Coldplay will probably always try to improve their previous works with adding more and more guitars and becoming such a guitar, rock band as U2, but i really hope not...i'd like to get back the old Coldplay with many new and fresh ideas

 

Muse...well. Muse will keep to write their progressive rock operas with extremely weird and unpronounceable titles and same chords...but

although instrumentally Muse is just as good or better than radiohead... Radiohead's music is so unique

and the lyrics blow our minds. Muse has great lyrics but nothing compares to Thom's lyrics.

Haha it's cruel, writing down my three fave bands and saying I should choose only one. I won't do it. Maybe I don't love Coldplay that much anymore, but Muse is my passion and I've always respected RH, especially last month I have a real crush on them :wacky:

 

So no, I won't pick one.

it was a tough one to choose.. but I think Radiohead is a band that continuously reinvents their sound. Muse is a close second... there really isn't any comparison though..... they are all in a category of their own.

I voted for radiohead because in my own personal view, they have released a couple of the best albums in my own list. Coldplay come in 2nd place with some of chris's lyrics and the guitar playing and Muse in a close 3rd, although if i give the album another spin on the old iTunes, than it might swap around
