Coldplay vs. Muse vs. Radiohead

Featured Replies

Radiohead isn't a band who'd make 329045 albums like Beatles did and probably their next, 7th album will be their last, i wouldn't be surprised. if they think it's enough, they won't continue

i guess the thing about muse here, is that each of the 3 have a phenomenal role in the band.

matt may be a big focus, but in alot of the bands, bassists are just well.... there...

and here, chris is just massive in muse. hysteria, muscle museum, etc...

each member plays such a big role in the whole muse sound. you can't have one without the other. none of them are replaceable, and this is something that gives them this quality.

i get it, but i can't see your points that Muse are better than Radioheads instrumentally. of course a particular member can be better than another one, i don't doubt it. i personally think that Ed and Colin are replaceable in Radiohead and probably...(forgive me, oh god!!) they are quite useless. :uhoh:

ok, let's say Matt is better than Thom. but still...overally Radiohead are more interesting than Muse, INSTRUMENTALLY ;)

radiohead is more interesting instrumentally and lyrically... I'm just saying that muse makes amazing performances... In the same way an orchestra might be boring but musically they're probably better than any band out there and in a similar way I think Matt is a better guitarist/vocalist and Chris is a better bassist than anyone on Radiohead.

But I agree in some ways Radiohead is more interesting musically and that would be due to Colin and Jonny and Thom and I believe phil :P

I'd definitely classify some Radiohead with Pink Floyd' date=' but I'd classify Muse with Led Zeppelin[/quote']

got it wrong. i didn't classify the bands into their music styles, i'm not that dumb to say that Radioehad's and Bob Dylan's music is similar. but as i said: ACHIEVEMENTS.

i think it's still too early to compare Muse to Led Zeppelin, Muse should release soem stuff before and prove their place in the world of music

Hahaha.... Oh god that's the best line of this thread, so honest... Gonna save it

Ok, I'll vote for Muse. Just because there're probably too many votes for RH and I can't let Coldplay win :laugh1:

i meant musical achievements and not musical styles ;)

ahhhh I see.... ;)

but I still don't think in musical achievement that they are in the same category!! :P

Jonny's guitar > Matt's guitar, no doubt. + Jonny's talent to play several instruments is extraordinary :smug:

Matt isn't better vocalist. Thom's voice was quite similar when he was younger than now and their singing styles are quite similar as well...hmmm  influences...

i will agree that Matt is a better vocalist if in 10 years he still can sing as he does now

I see what you mean now, I agree. Neither band has acheived the music sales of one of those bands... I think radiohead acheives more than any other band there ever was when it comes to making something unique. The beatles made great music but nothing like Radiohead, they just happened to come along when music was rather crappy and become famous enough to sell a bajillion or two albums...

i would drop any of Muse members to replace them with Coldplay members, save this as well then ;)

i also base my vote alot on the whole live thing.

i know i haven't seen radiohead live, but i've seen and heard alot of clips. i know i can't really base it on that

but to me, a bands success also lies in their live qualities.

coldplay had alot of stage presence, and they were very intimate which was great, chris as a frontman blows everyone out of the water with personality and making shows intimate.

muse; gosh i don't know what to say, apart from the fact that they are the most incredible musicians live. the arena was just... my god. blown away. it was incredible. their stage presence, their talent, everything. this sealed it for me.

this poll is so tight :o

it's a deadlock *da da da duuuuunnnnnn*

this thread became biased...i'm quitting it, because there's no point to prove something what is too obvious.

hmmmmm, maybe..... that's hard to say.......

hehe, well..... in my opinion Matt is an amazing vocalist and Thom's voice is not as good but it is swooning to a freak like myself :wacky:

we're on a cp forum' date=' what do you expect :P :laugh3:[/quote']

this is the world of music, so i think we should expect more non-biased fans, don't we? ;)

and all the randoms dribble in and see "OMG COLDPLAY THREAD!!@@!@SA"

and vote. :P
