though as i said, these bands are not in the same category and comparing Radiohead let's say to U2 or Pink Floyd would be more, more interesting

I find this interesting...talking about music...about good bands.....not about taste...about quality and stuff...

I believe that Coldplay and Muse have so many fans because they are so accesible. For me at least, to listen to Radiohead I cannot fully appreciate the songs unless I am listening to them and doing nothing else.

 

They don't write catchy riffs or simple soft-rock style love songs, they write deeper music. Especially from Kid A onwards.

 

And they are also like nothing else (at least they were), they are completely original and as Nik is constantly debating they never repeat themselves. Every album is excellent in its own way, even Pablo Honey.

COLDPLAY

I like them all, but my humble opinion is that Radiohead is the better band.

Coldplay for me :) ....Muse would have been 2nd.

 

Radiohead are immensely talented...but not my cup of tea at all.

of course i will pick Radiohead, they are just great,great,great to me,perfect. Coldplay of course second, Muse third, maybe because i dont know enough of their stuff to comment, but the stuff i have heard, its pretty darn good.

Exactly. :) I hate it when people say band's are shit and have no talent, just because it's not their taste.

 

I definatley think they are talented guys, without a doubt...in fact there's a couple of songs of theirs I dont mind...but I wouldn't choose to listen to most of their stuff.

Yeah that's the main thing for me. The one song that I really like is 'High and Dry'. We have it on a CD at work, and I love it.

 

Maybe I should try listening to more....hmmm. :thinking: Last time I really heard their stuff was years ago when my cousin used to listen to them alot, and I hated it.

well if you like high and dry you will like 'the bends'...its not scary at all...very accessible! but i dunno if you know all this already :laugh4:
