Radio can be magic

Featured Replies

Unbelieveable but true:

Radio can be magic!

I am sitting here and in the background the radio is on.

Now there is "bittersweet symphony" on the radio.

I love this song and I have it on different CDs.

I could listen to this song a thousand times a day, but I know if I would go to my room now and listen to it, I would turn it off after maybe a minute. Maybe this would be too intentional.(does this word exist?)

What i want to say is:

If I listen to the radio and if there is a song on the radio I love or like, I feel as if i want to die for this song (did I really say this?hahahahaha...).

I mean I have not been listening to Coldplay for a whole now, but I bet if there was maybe "in my place" on the radio now I would think "damn this is such a beautiful song" although i could listen to it everyday.

So:

If I hear a song on the radio it feels different from listening to it when I want to:laugh4:

Omg...this is confusing!

Yeah I know what you mean. That's like with movies. For example, I have a dvd "Wonder Boys", because I adore tis movie. But I almost never watch this dvd, just don't want to. But if it's on TV, it's different. On TV I can sit and enjoy it like a normal human.

Besides, radio is really magic for me. Every time I turn it on there's one of my fave songs on. Seriously, every time I turn it on there's Coldplay or Radiohead or Ashcroft or whoever. Nice and weird.

Radiohead on the radio?

wow...I've never heard them on the radio...NEVER!

Huh really?.. That's actually how I found out this band. I heard "Creep" on the radio. And there're many RH songs on russian radio. But I haven't turned it on for a few months, I don't really like radio.

Nope...they don't play radiohead on the radiostations I know....we don't get every radiostation ehre..hehe

therefore I'm also not that of a fan of it......usually they always play the same songs.....annoying...

yeah gitta i know what you mean...when you hear a song that you thought was beautiful when listening to it by your own choice, when someone else chooses that song and plays it and you know theres so many other people listening to the same song it makes it extra special

sooo true!!

they played "In The Sun" on the radio the other day and i was like :stunned:

it's weird ... i've been listening to that song for the billionth time ...

It is magical when a song comes on that perfectly suits your mood or what you are going through at the time. Thats happened to me a few times, at emotional moments, and its weird.

Stereophonics cover of "Nothing Compares 2 U" is sang so beautifully and done so well, and I've always related to the lyrics in a way that I dont think many people truely could. I had never heard this anywhere except for on my computer when I downloaded it, and when it came on the radio after a long and emotional telephone conversation with someone, it was like, deadly shocking, and deadly sad.

yeah gitta i know what you mean...when you hear a song that you thought was beautiful when listening to it by your own choice' date=' when someone else chooses that song and plays it and you know theres so many other people listening to the same song it makes it extra special[/quote']

exactly. the knowing and feeling that this song is being broadcast all over the city and is playing at the same time to who knows how many people, makes it that much exciting

i shout at my radio. it never plays anything good, and when it does i miss half of the song. but i did request a song once and it got played. that was a great feeling!!!!

Haha, Julia, I've got the same feeling when I hear for example Clocks in the radio.

That's why I want to buy me a digital FM tuner because I've got no radio in my room :P only in the car :D

But I've never heard Radiohead too...

exactly. the knowing and feeling that this song is being broadcast all over the city and is playing at the same time to who knows how many people' date=' makes it that much exciting[/quote']

true! that's what i feel too

Oh.I never thought about the fact that other people hear it at the same time.....maybe I can more agree with Reilly's "story"

I thought my Radio was magic because it had broken ages ago and I decided to get it out to see if it would, for some reason work, and then all that came out was static. So I unplugged it and put it back in my cupboard and came back later that day and I could here static coming from it and I got sacred and then realised there were batteries in it. True story.

I don't care much for the radio but when I do listen to it I know what you mean. You could listen to a song anyday but you don't and it makes you appreciate it when it comes on the radio.

they are palying a clocks live version on the radio....and I haven't been listening to Coldplay for ages....great.....

^ I haven't listened to Coldplay in a while either

I let my brother borrow all of their CDs

But I heard Speed of Sound on the radio yesterday and I felt so happy!

So yeah, the radio is magic.

YES...I also heard speed of sound on the radio yesterday...and I loved it...:D

omg! it's 5:47 am now and i didn't sleep at all ... because i was listening to the radio! :D

yes, i was bored and mtv started repeating all the videos, so i started to listen to the radio with my mobile phone (with earphones).

and... it was such a cool experience!

like ... i sang along to songs i USED to like ... and there were so many cool songs ... (okay, i switched between 5 channels; it's cooler with the mobile because it works by the touch of a button... so i don't need to search a channel...)

songs like ...

sure, 'Bittersweet Symphony' (i freaked out when it came!)

'Speed Of Sound'

'Sunday Morning'

'This Love'

the fucking cool new song of Xavier Naidoo!!!!

'Other Side Of The World'

'Losing My Religion' ...

i could go on forever ...

but the best thing was, when 'Nothing Else Matters' came on and i was sitting at my window watching the sunrise!

yeah, it's very cool outside (still) and i just sat there and drank water and looked at the trees ... ahhh ... sooo beautiful...

I  radio
